Rumors have been swirling online claiming that Thorsten Kaye, who plays Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, is battling liver cancer and planning to leave the show in September. Naturally, fans were alarmed, but there’s absolutely no truth to any of it.
Supervising Producer Casey Kasprzyk stepped in to shut the whole thing down, calling the speculation “pure trash” and urging people not to fall for the “disgusting made up article.”
The false claims started circulating on Facebook and other social media platforms, picking up traction fast. Kasprzyk addressed it directly on X, writing, “We never comment on rumors like this, but there’s one in particular about Thorsten Kaye that I’d like to state is completely false.”
He continued, “Pure trash created for clicks and gossip.” He even mentioned that his own mom reached out in concern, “To the many fans, including my mom, that reached out… please ignore this disgusting made up article.”
Thorsten Kaye is a longtime favorite for fans of the genre. He first gained attention back in 1995 as Patrick Thornhart on One Life to Live, followed by his role as Dr. Ian Thornhart on Port Charles. After that, he became Zach Slater on All My Children before finally joining The Bold and the Beautiful in 2013. Since then, he’s become a staple of the show and was honored with back-to-back Daytime Emmy Awards in 2023 and 2024 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
