As a creator of a number of popular daytime soap operas, William J. Bell’s memory will forever live on in our hearts. On April 29, 2005 Bell passed away at the age of 78 as a result of Alzheimer’s disease, he was buried at the Westwood Village Memorial park Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Though he is no longer with us, his work and his memory still remain with us. Bell is best known as the creator of Another World, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. He was married to former talk show host and co-creator of ‘Y&R’ and ‘B&B’, Lee Phillip Bell. Together they have three children, Bill Jr., Bradley, and Lauralee (Christine, Y&R) who are all involved in the soap business.

Bell was also associated with other daytime soap operas such as ‘The Guiding Light’, ‘As the World Turns’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’. In 1992 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Today is his (91st) birthday and his memories are still with us. The shows he worked hard to create are still here and his daughter Lauralee Bell and the rest of the Bell family are very happy about it.

RIP Bell and Happy Birthday!
