Soapy Season Two continues to bring out those superstar guests. The latest episode, hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart, features One Life to Live alum Renee Elise Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline Williamson).

During the episode, the acclaimed actress and singer opens up about her career path—from daytime television to Broadway—and her new autobiographical projects.

Goldsberry is introduced as the Tony and Grammy Award-winning actress from the original Broadway cast of Hamilton. She also takes a moment to reflect on her soap days, joking that memorizing pages of dialogue overnight actually helped her handle the rapid-fire lyrics of her Hamilton showstopper.

She affectionately describes soap actors as “mutants” for their ability to deliver under pressure, something we can all agree on.

The conversation turns heartfelt as Goldsberry discusses her new documentary, Satisfied, which currently boasts a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film explores her personal struggles with infertility and miscarriage, and the miracle of becoming a mother amid the whirlwind of Hamilton fame.

Renee Elise Goldsberry: One Life to Live

When I was on One Life to Live many years ago, I had the most amazing family,” Goldsberry shares. “I learned more than I’ve ever learned as an artist. I had the most amazing fans in the world. And I had two miscarriages—one of them on set. It was such an incredible loss. I thought this would never happen for me. So there are moments from One Life to Live in the documentary, because that was such a big part of my journey.

She also talks candidly about the guilt of being a working parent and the importance of her husband’s support. She admits that he encourages her to be fully present in every moment.

The documentary ties closely to her new album, Who I Really Am, which features songs she co-wrote along with one gifted to her by Girls5eva co-star Sara Bareilles.

Looking ahead, Goldsberry shares that she’ll be starring in a new Broadway play this spring titled The Ballisters and appears in the Netflix movie House of Dynamite. And because she’s never one to slow down, she’s also hoping to record a Christmas album in the near future. Watch the full interview below!
