Romy Park (known for her role as Poppy Nozawa on The Bold and the Beautiful) is stepping into a new chapter of her career as she adds “producer” to her impressive resume.
In a heartfelt post, she revealed that she’s preparing to move back to her native East Coast. But she was also shifting her focus to behind-the-scenes work.
Romy Park Announces New Career Milestone
Park shared the exciting news in an Instagram post featuring a new headshot taken by renowned soap photographer Howard Wise of JPI Studios. She captioned the image, “Who’s the boss?” In her post, she opened up about her personal and professional changes, stating:
“Only a few people were aware that in late December and early January, I was actively packing up my place and getting ready to move back to my native East Coast (I am a homeowner there).”
While her move was initially set, plans have since been postponed due to an exciting opportunity that requires her to stay put. Park continued:
“I’ve been working tirelessly and hoping it’s not too much longer to announce what I’ve been working on. I’ve had to temporarily step back from acting and have turned down some amazing offers for a couple of independent films… I want to focus properly on realizing the big picture of the future I want to create for myself.”
Becoming a Producer: A Dream in the Making
Romy Park is no stranger to hard work, and now she’s channeling that energy into becoming a producer, a role she says will give her the freedom and control she desires in her career. She explained:
“I have been actively working on becoming a producer so that I can be the boss of my own acting career and to have freedom and autonomy. Those dreams are slowly coming to fruition and it has been years of blood, sweat and tears.”
The actress and dancer also shared how the journey to get to this point hasn’t been easy. However, it has been worth it. She added:
“I’ve learned to stand up to people who are deemed to have more status and expertise and have gained their respect in doing so. I want to tell the stories I want to tell.” Park notes, “I am not just an actor. I am a storyteller.”
In her post, Park took a moment to express gratitude to the people who have helped her along the way, particularly her family, friends, and collaborators. She also gave special thanks to the ballet community:
“Gratitude to my family, closest friends, and my collaborators. More gratitude to my ballet community stateside and abroad: teachers, classmates, who are now friends. The ballet community is some of the most loyal and supportive of almost anyone I’ve ever met. You all know who you are. Thank you.”
