Ron Hale (Ronald Hale Thigpen) has died at the age of 78 on August 27th. According to his niece, Lori Brown, on Facebook, “It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my uncle Ron Hale Thigpen. He died unexpectedly at his home in St George, SC, on August 27. He was a wonderful human and he will be missed dearly. May he rest in peace.”
Additionally, actor Billy Warlock (who played AJ Quartermaine on General Hospital and Frankie on Days of our Lives) announced on X (formerly Twitter), “It’s with a heavy heart that we’ve lost another great one. My dear friend Ron Hale has passed away. Ron was an amazing talent and an even better friend. I will miss you.”
Ron Hale, born January 2, 1946, was a distinguished American actor, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Roger Coleridge on the ABC soap opera Ryan’s Hope, where he captivated audiences throughout its entire run from 1975 to 1989. He is also well-known for his recurring role as Mike Corbin, the formidable father of the infamous mobster Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital.
