Nearing 150k followers on his YouTube channel, Maurice Benard treated General Hospital and Sawandi Wilson (Dr. Isaiah Gannon) fans to a sweet interview with the GH newbie. The conversation kicked off with Benard questioning Wilson about his past with breakdancing—warning: It’s very interesting!
After gushing about his paths crossing with music icons such as Chris Brown and more, things shifted to Wilson’s background. Sawandi noted that he is the youngest of four; however, everyone was much older than he was, and because of this, he was always home alone—with his mom and dad, whom he calls his best friends. He also opened up about losing his dad in 2023. He admits, “When we lost him last year, that hit me in a place that I wasn’t ready for because growing up—he was not like my dad; he was like my best friend.”
The conversation between the actors continued with Wilson delving into his acting career, his time on Star Trek, where he played a young star captain while acting opposite some incredible actors, and his working on GH.
