The Talk is in its 15th and final season, with its last episode scheduled to air on December 6, 2024. As the show is on its last leg, the series welcomed back Shemar Moore as a guest in the October 16th episode.
During the segment, Moore was shown a clip of his soap opera beginning where he was hired as Malcolm Winters, the brother of Neil Winters (played by the late Kristoff St. John) on The Young and the Restless. Reflecting, Moore said, “April 6, 1994, I got hired as Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless.” He went on to say, “I was excited [thinking] ‘I’m gonna be on TV.’ Then once I got the job and all that sunk in, I got freaked out, like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not gonna be good enough. They’re gonna see right through me. They’re gonna tap me on my shoulder and send me home.”

But St. John gave him some advice, a message he carries with him today: “Back then, it wasn’t what I would’ve told myself, because back then, I was scared. [But] from the beginning, he embraced me. He said, ‘You’re scared. You’re nervous. You’re green, but you’ve got heart, and you’ve got raw talent.’
Today, Shemar Moore has had a very successful acting career and a creative repertoire, which includes producing. Moore is the lead star, playing Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson Jr. in S.W.A.T, which returns with its 8th season on October 18th. Check out the video clip below.
