In the latest shocking casting news, Billy Flynn is leaving Salem for Genoa City—the actor is set to exit Days of our Lives as he joins the cast of The Young and the Restless. The news was first reported by TV Insider. Flynn tells the outlet, “I am grateful for my years at DAYS; it changed my life in the best ways. I’ve always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I’ve spent the last 10-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories. And now I’m excited for this opportunity and to test myself in a new way.”
Billy Flynn’s soap career kicked off in 2014 when he joined Days of our Lives as a recast Chad DiMera. He quickly became a fan favorite and was nominated three times for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2017, 2019, and 2023.
There’s no word yet on who Flynn will play on The Young and the Restless but reports say the actor has been tapped for a new role. Any guesses who he could be playing when he hits the fictional town of Genoa City this spring?
