A little over a handful of General Hospital cast members recently appeared on The Jennifer Hudson show. While there, the stars, including Donnell Turner (Curtis), Laura Wright (Carly), Tanisha Harper (Jordan), Maurice Benard (Sonny), Finola Hughes (Anna), and Cameron Mathison (Drew), talked about the loss of their colleague Leslie Charleson (Monica), played a trivia game, and how a Snoop Dogg cameo almost came to be.
When Hudson asked about celebrities wanting to be on the show, Turner noted, “I’ve had a couple of occasions where people have said, ‘You know, I would love to be on the show.”
He added, “They’re aware of how difficult daytime is, and so a lot of people want to challenge themselves, and some people dare not. So it’s been interesting to see the different people that have come my way saying, ‘Hey, see what you can do.’
Snoop Dogg on General Hospital?
Turner continued, “I had an opportunity to meet Snoop Dogg. Snoop is about as cool as you might imagine and knows my boss, and so he’s like, ‘Frank Valentini, oh man, I love Frank. Tell him what’s up,’ and I’m like, ‘You tell him what’s up. Come on over here and play with us. So, I workshopped it with Frank, and we tried, and then Snoop got busy, so hopefully we’ll keep our fingers crossed. Hughes chimed in, “That would be so fun,” while Wright added, “That would be amazing!”
This wouldn’t be Snoop’s first time on soaps! Fans may remember him for his 3-episode appearances on One Life to Live, where he played himself. During his Llanview visits, he had scenes with some of the town’s key players, including Bo Buchanan (Robert S. Woods) and his wife Nora Buchanan (Hillary B. Smith). He had the opportnity of talking love and life with the Buchanans and also tried to convince them to let their teenage son Matthew (Eddie Alderson) attend his performance at the local nightclub, Capricorn. Valentini also served as EP for OLTL during Snoop’s guest appearances.
