Incoming Days of Our Lives queen and former The Bold and the Beautiful star, Linsey Godfrey speaks out on the subject of sexual assault. Women are taking the time to report sexual assault stories on social media using the hastag #WhyDidntIReport. Godfrey joined and shared, “I didn’t report because he was my step dad & I didn’t think anyone would believe me I didn’t report because I didn’t want to tear my family apart. Then I didn’t report because I was 15 & he was an older boy, I said “no” he was wealthy and I was not. I was scared so I said nothing.” She later added, “Girls and women don’t report because of so many reasons, victim shaming is a huge reason. “Boys will be boys” isn’t good enough. I never said anything because I didn’t want someone to blame me for something that happened to me, something that was taken from me.” We’re truly sorry that she went through this terrible ordeal but we’re happy she stepped forward with her story. Godfrey is set to begin playing the role of Sarah Horton on Days of Our Lives this fall and she’s also well known for playing Caroline Spencer on B&B.

Thank you so much! I tell my story to help make it safer for other women and men to come forward. To tell their stories, to know they aren’t alone, that we believe them and we want to make changes to make it safer for the next generation. You are not alone. I love you all ❤️ https://t.co/EVPFkF0yvR— Linsey Godfrey (@linseygodfrey) September 26, 2018
