It’s been about 5 years since we saw Ridge Forrester Jr, or RJ as he’s nicknamed, on The Bold and the Beautiful. He was a teenager then, home from boarding school and scheming to get his parents back together. He eventually went back to school and was only mentioned occasionally until he suddenly showed up at Forrester Creations and surprised his father. We saw that RJ was all grown up and recast with hunky soap newcomer Joshua Hoffman!
Hoffman was immediately thrown into a large family reunion with RJ’s parents and various half-siblings and he handled it like a seasoned pro. He has a natural chemistry with all of his co-stars and fits in seamlessly. His pushback against his father wanting him to join the family business and his tension with his half-brother over what Thomas (Mathew Atkinson) did to his mother have intrigued us about what’s to come for the character and have us wanting to know more about who he is now and how he’ll fit into the canvas.
All in all, we felt the reintroduction of RJ into The Bold and the Beautiful is off to a great start and the credit for that goes to his new portrayer, Joshua Hoffman. We give his debut an A+! Do you agree with our grade? What do you want to see come next for him?
