We’re back! The star of the month column is back, and as per usual, we honor a soap star who truly excelled within the month! General Hospital’s Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine) gets the first honor for 2025. She has been nothing short of extraordinary, delivering an impressive masterclass in acting throughout January.
Born in January 1947, Elliot kicked off her acting career in 1960. Fast forward to 1978; she began her GH journey and quickly became a fan favorite. Elliot’s prowess was further recognized when she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in 1981.
This month, Tracy played a pivotal role in the intense drama surrounding Willow and her children, Wiley and Amelia. With Michael in the hospital after a severe injury, the battle for the kids commenced. Tracy stood her ground, shooing away anyone daring to take the kids from the Quartermaine mansion.
Elliot was on fire with those unforgettable performances, especially that heart-tugging moment when Tracy begged Jason to pick family over Sonny and to, for goodness’ sake, not break Monica’s heart!
Hats off to you, Jane Elliot—you’re a legend! Congrats on being named Soap Opera News’ star of the month for January.
