Beyond the Gates: ever since the dynamic duo, led by “Lesile” (Trisha Mann-Grant) and all her alias, let the audience in on their plan to blow up Nicole and Ted’s perfect marriage, we have been waiting for the reveal and subsequent fall-out. We were not disappointed! Mann-Grant and Ambyr Michelle (Eva) slayed the entire month of May!
Trisha Mann-Grant
Leslie locking Eva in a closet, Eva’s rescue, Eva trying to stop Leslie’s crazy, Leslie blowing up Nicole and Ted’s anniversary party and marriage, Leslie putting Eva out, Leslie admitting to running Laura off the road, Eva covering for Leslie with Jacob, Lesile packing Eva’s stuff up, demanding her key back and crying when Eva left, Eva stealing evidence; every time Eva and Lesile went toe to toe, it was thee moment!
Amid the terrific and “terrible” twosome going at it, Leslie and Eva also rocked in scenes opposite; Kat (Colby Muhammad), Nicole (Daphnee Duplaix), Anita (Tamara Tunie), Mona (Karan Kendrick) and Ted (Maurice Johnson/ Keith D. Robinson.)
Ambyr Michelle Gets Star of the Month
The chilling scene with Leslie and Laura (Destiny Love) at the hospital as well as the scenes with Ted and Leslie and where she put an exclamation point on what we already knew to be true, Mann-Grant’s Leslie is that villainess!
Michelle has been nothing short of brilliant, nailing every beat of Eva’s conundrum, stuck between a rock and a crazy momma, wanting to be a part of Ted’s life, wanting to be a better person but still loving her psycho momma. Michelle, Michelle, Michelle, yas, yas, yas!
Congratulations to Trisha Mann-Grant and Ambyr Michelle for being selected Soap Opera News’ Stars of the Month of May!
General Hospital: Giovanni Mazza
This month we are doing something a little bit different. Members of the family selected this month’s winner as Giovanni Mazza so we will show him some much-deserved love too.
The secret is out in Port Charles. Everyone knows that Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri is the biological son of Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton.) Gio took center stage (literally and figuratively) and Mazza took full advantage of the opportunity to shine. He embodied and emoted shock, anger, devastation, despair, disappointment, as all he knew to be true crumbled before him.
He gave us everything. Whether he was dismantling his violin, in tears explaining to Tracy (Jane Elliot) he is a Quartermaine, running away, lashing out in anger or making the brave decision to head back to Port Charles and “figure out” how he feels about his family, Gio (via Mazza) took us on an emotional roller coaster and it was one helluva soapy ride!
Bravo, Giovanni! (Photo: CBS/ABC.)
