In 2 live zoom sessions with his VIP Patreon
subscribers, Steve Burton revealed what’s next for him after being let go from
General Hospital for non-compliance with the on-set vaccine mandate. He shared
his excitement about his future with some of his biggest fans, “As sad as it
is, it’s exciting also, for me…everyone’s been so gracious saying ‘Hey! Another
show will call.’ If they do, awesome. We’ll see what it is but right now I’m
really happy being home and figuring out what the next venture is.”
Burton went on to add that he has been off set for
about 6 weeks now and was enjoying taking the kids to school every day. When
asked if he had plans to go to another soap opera he replied, “My first
inclination is to not rush to go anywhere right now.”
When talking about his next move Burton excitedly
told the fans, “It’s gonna be something, definitely something with coaching.
Coaching guys with nutrition and fitness but also mindset coaching cause that’s
really been the key for me in the last year, is the mindset so if I can help
people improve their lives or change something in their lives to make their
lives better, that’s kinda the route I wanna go because I’m really passionate
about it and I love it and I love doing it.”
Some of the fans participating talked about
boycotting the show and Burton said, “I’m not here to tell anyone to stop
watching the show. I never would have even in 2012. That’s my home. People make
their living that way and those people are important to me still, it’s still my
family.” Bradford Anderson who was hosting the zoom sessions with him said, “We
don’t want General Hospital to go away.”
“I’m not angry so you don’t have to be angry for
me.” Burton reassured his fans. “I don’t have any anger. I’m not upset. I’m at
peace with my decision. I’m at peace with moving forward with me life and I
appreciate all of your support.”
Burton did say that with some of his new free time he planned to finally start
watching General Hospital himself so he would know what was going on with the
show and talk about it with his fan. With a big grin and a seemingly positive
outlook he told them, “The future is bright. I’m ready to roll.”
