Susan Flannery just went back home to the set of The Bold and the Beautiful, where she played Stephanie Forrester for many decades. In fact, she starred in the very first episode in 1987 until 2012, when she decided to leave the show.
She has since made a few ghostly appearances over the years. However, her visit back to her old stomping grounds was not a solo trip. Her real-life friend and Dr. James Warwick portrayer, Ian Buchanan, joined her for the visit.
Casey Kasprzyk, the executive producer of the CBS daytime drama, shared a video of the OGs taking a ride on the soap’s set at Sunset Las Palmas Studios. This marks the first time either star has visited the new location. As fans know, B&B taped at CBS Television City for decades before relocating to its current studio setup.
Susan Flannery Spent 25 Years Playing Stephanie Forrester
Flannery, who relocated to Australia in mid-2025, is an accomplished American actress and director. She made her screen debut in the 1965 Western film Guns of Diablo and appeared in several television series afterward.
From 1966 to 1975, Flannery starred as Laura Horton on the NBC daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives, earning her first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Later, she spent 25 years playing the fierce matriarch of the Forrester clan, Stephanie Forrester, winning three more Daytime Emmy Awards for the role in 2000, 2002, and 2003.
Ian Buchanan Has a Soap Opera Legacy of His Own
Meanwhile, Buchanan is famous for playing several iconic soap roles beyond his time on B&B. Fans also remember him as Duke Lavery on General Hospital, Joshua Temple on Port Charles, Lord Sheraton on Days of Our Lives, and Dr. Greg Madden on All My Children. He won a Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his work on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1997.
