Six years ago, Rena Sofer who is widely known for playing the role of Quinn Fuller on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ lost one of the most important men in her life to cancer. On July 21, 2011 a great man’s life ended as a result of a battle with cancer. Sofer’s father, Martin Sofer who was a Conservative Jewish rabbi and Rabbi of Temple Beth El in North Bergen, New Jersey passed away in 2011. Today, Rena Sofer who is also known for playing Lois Cerullo on ‘General Hospital’ looks back at that time and reflects on the good old days with her dad.
Sofer took to Instagram sharing a touching little story. Here’s her touching caption of an interesting picture:
“Six years ago today I lost my amazing father to cancer. He was the most special man in the world especially to me. He raised my brother and I single handedly from the time we were toddlers and he was there for us every day of our lives with a wealth of unconditional love and support. He was our father, our Rabbi, our teacher and our best friend in the world. For the last 13 years of his life he lived with my brother and me which was the greatest gift in the world to us. From the day he was diagnosed to the day he died we, my whole tiny family, never left his side. When he died, at home, he died in all of our arms and that was the last gift he gave all of us. I miss him every day and I am who I am today because of him. Thank you Daddy. Rabbi Martin Sofer. The greatest man I have ever known. MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU, MAY THE LORD CAUSE HIS COUNTENANCE TO SHINE UPON YOU AND BE GRACIOUS UNTO YOU, MAY THE LORD LIFT UPON YOU THE LIGHT OF HIS COUNTENANCE AND GRANT YOU PEACE.”
