The Young and the Restless recently held an on-set celebration to honor the man, the myth, the legend, the great Eric Braeden, and his 45 years on the show.
Born in Germany in 1941, Braeden later moved to the US, where he accumulated many TV and film credits. The most recognized of those is his four-and-a-half-decade run as Victor Newman.
Known as a powerful business mogul, the fictional Genoa City icon remains one of the most popular on the show to this date. The love for Victor goes far beyond the screen, and this was evident as his colleagues gathered together to celebrate his 45th anniversary on set. Additionally, the show’s official YouTube page under the name Y&R Insider uploaded a video where the cast congratulated Eric Braeden on his milestone.
45 Years of Eric Braeden as Victor Newman on Y&R
Melody Thomas Scott, who plays his other half, Nikki Newman, said, “Hello, darling, happy anniversary. 45 years, oh my goodness. 44 of them with me. I’m sorry you had to have that first year without me, but what a ride. It goes so fast. Enjoy it. I love you forever.”
Joshua Morrow, who plays his onscreen son, Nick Newman, shared, “Eric, big dog, it’s your boy right here coming at you. I just want to say congratulations on 45 incredible years. The term goat gets thrown around a lot. Michael Jordan—the GOAT—you are the Michael Jordan of daytime, brother, and I love you. I love being your son, and big ups, dude, you’re just a monster. I love you, brother.
