After a well-anticipated wait, The Haves and the Have Nots is back tomorrow night with season 7 on OWN. Renee Lawless who assumes the role of Katheryn Cryer previewed what’s to come with Soaps In Depth, in their latest magazine issue.
In the season 6 finale, Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) had a gun and used it. It was a cliffhanger episode and viewers were left pondering what could have happened. Lawless shared, “The police walk into the house and it looks like a massive crime scene: Jim’s face down on the living-room floor, and Katheryn’s face down in the bathtub.”
In the scene, Wyatt survives and Hanna (Crystal Young) walks in to find the Cryers in a terrible position, wondering if any of them is alive.
Elsewhere for the Harringtons Veronica sent gunmen to assassinate her family and Lawless previews, “Jeffrey really wants to tell the police what happened, but David says, ‘No. I will take care of your mother!’”
In other places, Candace (Tika Sumpter) has to face two realities; Charles (Nick Sagar) dumped her and she just found learned the identity of her father Derrick (Keith Burke). Benny (Tyler Lepley) urges his sister to lay low for a bit but got a few things of his own to consider.
The big question is – is Katheryn alive?
Unfortunately, the fate of Katheryn will not be addressed until the end of the following episode. Lawless shares that it will come with “a very big shock and a rude awakening that will last through the upcoming episodes. There will be a lot of people spiraling down the rabbit hole, and it’ll seem like there is no way out!”
Be sure to watch HAHN’s return on January 7 at 9pm on OWN!
