Longtime television viewers would remember “Knots Landing” was one of America’s top primetime television soap operas which aired for 14 seasons on CBS from December 27, 1979 to May 13, 1993. Mills tackled the role of Abby Fairgate Cunningham Ewing Sumner for several seasons during the show’s run, while Michele Lee played Karen Fairgate MacKenzie for the show’s entire run from 1979 – 1983 and Joan VanArk played Valene “Val” Ewing almost for the show’s entire 14 seasons.
