Great News for Kate Linder fans!
Kate Linder (Esther, The Young and the Restless), while attending the Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmys, spoke to People magazine. They discussed a range of subjects including the great news that Linder has no plans to depart the sudser anytime soon with her pointedly stating, “I don’t believe in retirement. They’ll just have to drag me. I’m not [leaving] anytime soon.”
Linder also shared that she knew from a young age she wanted to be an actress. “I always said to my parents, ‘I want to be an actress, and they’d go, ‘No, no.’ I mean sure, they were hoping I’d grow out of it. They didn’t know. You’re talking a lot of years ago.” Her parents didn’t know much about the industry but they wholeheartedly supported their daughter as she pursued her love of the craft.
In 1982, Linder booked a one-day stint at Y&R and today forty years later she and Esther are still going strong in Genoa City! And soap fans couldn’t be happier that there is more to come!
