The drama surrounding Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) and his terrible car accident on The Young and the Restless is about to heat up. The CBS daytime drama has tapped Catherine Kresge to play Detective Annie Stewart, who will make her debut on Thursday, November 20.
Who is Catherine Kresge?
She is the daughter of a Korean immigrant and a now-retired Army Lt. Colonel from Buffalo. Kresge was born on a military base and spent her childhood hopping from city to city — and even out of the country and back again. Growing up constantly on the move made her adaptable, curious, and empathetic — qualities that shine through in her work.
Catherine’s career spans over 100 national, regional, and international commercials — including memorable campaigns for AT&T, Xerox, and Ponds. She’s also made guest appearances on shows like That ‘70s Show, NCIS, and Lucifer, and has taken on starring roles in projects like the award-winning The Things We Carry and the groundbreaking series RCVR. She’s even shared the screen with Sally Field in Hello, My Name is Doris.
Known for her versatility and authenticity, Catherine brings depth and relatability to every role she takes on. Classically trained in theater, she earned her BFA in Acting (Summa Cum Laude) and a BA in Political Science from the University of Arizona. At the heart of her work is a deep fascination with the human condition — and how we connect with one another.
Catherine Kresge is no stranger to the genre. In fact, soap viewers may remember her for her brief run on All My Children as Sienna in 2011 or as Dr. Sawyer on General Hospital.
According to reports, Detective Stewart will be in multiple episodes of Y&R as the LAPD investigates Noah’s accident.
