The Young and the Restless is bringing another familiar soap face to Genoa City. Roger Howarth has officially joined the cast in a mystery role. This news comes shortly after it was announced that Tamara Braun would be stepping into the role of Sienna.
According to Deadline, Howarth is expected to make his debut sometime this fall. After the news broke, he took to Instagram with a photo of himself and the Y and R and shared, “Excited and appreciative… I’m a lucky guy.”
Roger Howarth Joins The Young and the Restless
Howarth is no stranger to daytime TV. He’s played a wide range of characters over the years and is best known to some fans for his most recent role as Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt on General Hospital, which he exited in September 2023. Unfortunately, the character was shot and killed.
Before that, he portrayed Franco Baldwin from 2013 to 2020 and Todd Manning from 2012 to 2013. Longtime soap fans will also remember him from One Life to Live, where he originally made his mark as Todd Manning. Howarth also played Paul Ryan on As the World Turns and had short stints on Guiding Light and Loving.
Since leaving soaps, Howarth has been very active on Instagram, an account he only created recently. So, what do you think about Roger Howarth joining The Young and the Restless? Who do you think he’ll be playing? Some fans are already speculating that he might be the new Tucker McCall—a role previously played by his OLTL co-star, Trevor St. John.
