“This Is Us” has a star-studded cast: Milo Ventimiglia
(Jack), Mandy Moore (Rebecca), Justin Hartley (Kevin), Chrissy Metz (Kate), and
Sterling K. Brown (Randall).
“This Is Us” follows the lives of the Pearson family: Jack,
Rebecca, Kevin, Kate, and Randall in a series of flashbacks, present day, and
flash forwards. It appears as if the final
season will focus on Rebecca’s battle with Alzheimer’s. In the promo, Rebecca says, “I’m losing my
memory. Sometimes I think about what my very last memory will be before the
candle goes out”. The promo goes on to
show different highlights and defining moments in the characters’ lives such
as: Kate singing in public (Chrissy Metz’s beautiful cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time
After Time” plays throughout the promo), the moments before Rebecca went into
labor with the triplets on Jack’s birthday, Jack and Rebecca’s wedding, Randall
being there for William’s final moments, Kevin helping Randall through a panic
attack, Beth dancing again in her own studio, and Jack coming out of the house fire. Rebecca goes on to say, “I don’t know how
much longer I have before things get worse so I made sure to remember every
little detail. I just wish I could make time stand still. I’m not worried about forgetting about the
big stuff, it’s the little things I’m not ready to let go of yet.” In a flashback, Rebecca tells Jack, “Until a
day is over there is always a chance you’ll remember it for something else;
that’s how we’ll remember it”. Fans will
have to tune in to see which moments resonate with Rebecca and her loved
ones. “This Is Us” is known for tugging
at fans’ heart strings, so get those tissues on standby!
Justin Hartley got his start on soap operas. He played Nicholas Foxworth Crane on “Passions”
and Adam Newman on “The Young & The Restless”. He left Y&R when he landed the role of
Kevin Pearson on “This Is Us”. Kevin is
an actor who struggled with fans taking him seriously. He also felt as if his siblings got more
attention than he did. He battled with alcohol
just like his father and uncle. He got
sober and helped his uncle as well. He
had many different love interests throughout the series, but two stand outs are
Sophie, his high school sweetheart and Madison, the mother of their twin
babies. Fans will have to tune in to see
who he ends up with and how he makes out as a father.
“This Is Us” will return on Tuesday, January 4th on NBC. Check your local listings.
