We’re loving Calderon, who’s bringing enough spicy vibes to the canvas as Javi to make anyone blush! Seriously, we can’t wait to see what escapades await this character, but for now, hats off to Calderon for his work thus far!
- 9. Colin Cassidy – Aiden, GH
Cassidy, a new addition to the soap genre as the new Aiden Spencer—yes, the child of Elizabeth and Lucky! Although he’s only graced our screens in a handful of episodes thus far, he has somehow managed to charm audiences with his dazzling portrayal and those emotional moments with his parents!
- 8. Natasha Hall – Sloan, DAYS
Hall, the real-life better wife of Leo Howard (Tate), swung in, pinch-hitting for Jessica Serfaty as Sloan Peterson. It was a brief stint, but boy, did Hall leave a mark on soap fans! With her first-ever soap gig under her belt, we can only hope she makes a grand return to the genre in the future.

It was an absolute thrill when the news dropped that the show was adding Xander’s mom to the mix! Enter Serena Scott Thomas, who, bless her heart, waltzed in and brought this character to life, leaving viewers gasping at every plot twist! Bravo, Fiona! You may have shuffled off the canvas, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a triumphant return, even if it’s just for a quick cameo to stir the pot!

Good get! Leo Howard is a fine talent, famed for his skills and versatility in both acting and martial arts—and now he is probably best known for his role as Tate Black on DAYS.
- 5. Crew Morrow – Will, B&B
Crew Morrow is like the secret recipe the younger set of The Bold and the Beautiful didn’t know they were missing! We’re on the edge of our seats, waiting for him to dive into some juicy emotional scenes. But for now, this son of Joshua Morrow (Nick, Y&R) is absolutely killing it—he’s doing a fantastic job stealing every scene!
- 4. Sawandi Wilson – Isaiah, GH
Wilson is one of the best additions to GH lately—shall we say his alter ego Isaiah is a spicy and utterly delightful addition? Jordan Ashford has already shown interest in this melanin marvel, who is poised to bring the heat in Port Charles! For the love of all that is soapy, let’s hope the folks behind the scenes actually invest in this sizzling pair, as Wilson has already charmed us viewers into submission, and we’re all holding on to hope. We are eagerly waiting to see what wild adventures 2025 and beyond will throw his character’s way!
- 3. Adam J. Harrington – Jagger, GH
Harrington swaggered onto the scene earlier this year as John “Jagger” Cates, and while his time on the show was shorter than expected (seriously, we’re still in denial about that ending), we absolutely adored Harrington! His acting skills were so top-notch! Please come back to the genre soon!
- 2. Cherie Jimenez – Gabi, DAYS
Maybe we’ve said it enough, or maybe we haven’t, but Cherie Jimenez is an asset to this genre—one of the best recasts in a while! (Stay tuned for our upcoming list of the top soap recasts of 2024—bet you can’t wait!) Jimenez strolled into the soap world behind the scenes last year, and thanks to the show’s advanced tape-to-air schedule, she burst onto the scene earlier this year with all the fire Gabi’s been known for! We’re loving her—loving her—absolutely loving her. We’re all in, folks! Seriously, we can’t wait to see what shenanigans await Jimenez and her sassy on-screen persona!
- 1. AnnaLynne McCord – Cat, DAYS
Congrats to everyone who made it to the list this year! And a massive shoutout to AnnaLynne McCord—what a catch for Days of Our Lives! This actress brought her A-game, proving she’s not just a pretty face but also a great talent. When her casting was initially announced, we were all secretly hoping she’d be a back-from-the-dead Abigail (after all, it would make more sense), but once she came on screen, McCord had us playing the good ole guessing game with her character’s identity—one moment she’s Abigail, the next we’re yelling, “Who are you?!” Surprise, surprise, she’s Cat Greene! McCord adds a sprinkle of magic to the show; she’s so good, we’re loving it! And let’s not forget the character’s sizzling chemistry with Chad DiMera (played by Billy Fylnn). Huge congrats on being crowned the #1 soap newcomer of 2024 by Soap Opera News! 🎉
