Every year, sitting down to compile our “best of the best” list can be a real challenge—especially when it comes to the recasts! Nevertheless, we’ve wrestled with our brains and managed to chop it down to the top 5 recasts of the year, complete with a few honorary mentions. This year we were wowed with performances that warmed our hearts, broke them, and sometimes made us laugh so hard we nearly launched the remote at the TV. So, buckle up and check out which stars managed to steal the show; feel free to drop your own personal favorites below; we can’t wait to hear your thoughts (and maybe assess your taste)!

We must give a thunderous, standing-ovation kind of applause to all the fabulous contenders on this year’s list! This category was a very tough one—there were simply too many good options! This year we ended up with a tie for the top spot!
The winners? None other than Alexa Havins Bruening as Lulu on General Hospital and Cherie Jimenez as Gabi on Days of Our Lives. Now, Havins Bruening has barely been on screen two months in the role of Lulu—but boy, did she come in understanding the assignment and delivering at that! They say stepping into an established role is never easy, but Havins Bruening made it seem very simple! And then there’s Jimenez, who stole our hearts from the very beginning. She missed no beats! Gabi’s beauty? Check! Gabi’s fiery attitude? Check!—We’re still fanning ourselves! Honestly, between Havins Bruening and Jimenez, we couldn’t help but feel like we hit the jackpot on the recast lottery! Hats off to these two for snatching the top honors this year!
