Tristan Rogers, who is best known for his role as Robert Scorpio on General Hospital, has died at the age of 79 after a battle with cancer. Rogers died on August 15, 2025. Per a report from ABC7, “Rogers’ death was confirmed by his longtime manager, Meryl Soodak, who said the actor passed away Friday morning after a battle with lung cancer.”
Last month, on July 17, in a statement sent out to the press, it read, “Beloved Emmy-winning actor Tristan Rogers, best known for his role as Robert Scorpio on the daytime drama, General Hospital, is sharing with fans that he has been diagnosed with cancer. While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristan and his family.“
Tristan Rogers’ Career
Rogers was born on June 3, 1946, in Melbourne, Australia. Fans may remember him from his early acting roles, which were on Australian television and some short soap opera stints. He later became a regular in The Link Men, which lasted for 13 episodes.
His acting career spanned many decades. Approximately 10 years later, he joined the cast of General Hospital and quickly became a fan favorite. Rogers would also play the role on General Hospital: Night Shift, a primetime spin-off of the ABC daytime drama from August 2008 through October 2008.
However, in 2013, Rogers joined The Young and the Restless, where he portrayed Colin Atkinson. The character was recently revealed to have died off-screen.
He was also a cast member on the award-winning web series, The Bay, from its inception in 2010, where he played Commissioner Lex Martin.
Tristan Rogers has been married to Teresa Parkerson since 21 May 1995. Together they have two children, a daughter, Sara Jane, and a son, Cale.
Rogers last appeared on General Hospital in July when Sasha moved from Port Charles to be with her father.
