Two stars have been upped to contract status on Days of our Lives: Susan Seaforth Hayes, who plays Julie Williams, and Madelyn Kientz, in the role of Sophia Choi.
The change in status was noticed by a fan during the credit crawl at the end of one of last week’s episodes. Now Jason47 confirms on his Facebook page that Kientz started appearing on contract as of the October 2 episode, while Seaforth Hayes followed suit with a contract effective from the October 4 episode.
This is the first time Seaforth Hayes has been on contract since January 1993. Hayes joined the show in 1968 and played her character on a contractual basis between the periods of 1968–1984, and 1990–1993. Subsequently, she had some guest stints between 1993-94 and 1996 and went on recurring from 1999 to present. Hayes also played the roles of D.A. Patricia Steele on Sunset Beach and Joanna Manning on The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.
Kientz, on the other hand, joined the Peacock sudser and made her debut in April this year, appearing on a recurring basis until this change in status.
