Morris Chestnut Shares Emotional Message
In an Instagram reel, Chestnut addressed the cancellation and thanked fans, cast, and crew for their support:
“Hey everybody, as the world has heard, unfortunately Watson will not be coming back for season three. Yes, it’s disappointing, but that’s the way the show biz beast is, you know. Yes, the nature of the beast, and you have to take the good with the bad.
But I want to hop on here real quick and say thank you so much for all of the fans who supported and watched the show. Your support of our show did not go unrecognized and we truly, truly appreciate those of you who tuned in each week to find the mystery in the case of the week.
Thank you to the crew, the crew who gave us their blood, sweat and tears, putting in long 12, 13 hour days. I love you guys so much, you guys are there without complaining. We have such a family environment. Thank you to the crew.
The writers, directors led by Craig and Larry. Thank you guys for everything. It was great being in the trenches with you guys. Brian and Aaron haven’t forgotten about you guys too. Being in the trenches with you guys. It was just a phenomenal experience. Thank you CBS for the partnership. Truly appreciated the opportunity.
Last but not least, at all is our cast. Now I want all of you guys to be on the lookout for everybody in our cast because everybody in our cast has put in phenomenal work. Starting with Eve Harlow. She played the sociopath to a T. You have to watch her work playing that character because she’s a lot different in person than what you see on screen. If you knew her in person, you would truly admire and appreciate her work.
Peter Mark Kendall, who played twin brothers on national television. On a national network television show, he played twin brothers. I don’t know if it’s ever been done before. It probably won’t be done again because it’s so ambitious and he did it with such finesse and ease.
Inga Schlingmann. Inga brought such love and compassion to the world of Watson that if it wasn’t there, it would have been a completely different show. So Inga Schlingmann, look out for her.
The absolute incomparable Ritchie Coster. Ritchie Coster, being in scenes with Ritchie is like watching a masterclass. The brother is just, his talent is just out of there and just what he brings to the characters and how he brings it, it’s like a masterclass.
Rochelle Aytes. The world needs to see more of Rochelle Aytes, and you will see more of her, I’m sure. You will see more of this entire cast because they deserve to be seen. Remember those names. I’m not going to forget you too, Robert Carlyle, the world already knows who he is.
Some of those supporting cast, the work that they’re just putting in. Thank you to them all as well. And again, all the fans, truly, truly love and appreciate you guys for supporting the show.
And look, all the cast, we’re going to be back out there. We’re going to be in some more projects you will be able to see, I’m sure, very soon. So thank you all. Love you all. This is goodbye, but not goodbye forever.”
