Jesse Metcalfe, Trace Riley, sat down with ET ahead of Chesapeake Shores premiere this Sunday, August 25th. To review ET’s full article click here.

When the new season of Chesapeake Shores starts, the communication between Trace and Abby has been less and less over the last few months. Trace leaves his tour early and returns home in an attempt to salvage the relationship. Upon his return, Abby doesn’t exactly welcome him back with open arms. But Trace understands it regardless if he likes it. He understands that Abby gave him an ultimatum her or his career and he chose his career.  Abby wants a different life, a calmer life and Trace needs to respect that even though he loves and wants to be with her. Trace must try to move on without Abby.

Trabby fans might have to take some deep breaths this season. Fans of the couple will have to endure Trace and Abby both having new romantic interests in the new season. This is something Jesse realizes is not going to be easy for the fans but; “I think with Chesapeake Shores we’re trying to tell a very grounded, real story and I think sometimes the Hallmarkies tend to live in this utopian world and that’s just not the story we’re telling here,” he explained. “We’re telling a story about real life. There’s ebbs and flows in real life and things are not always perfect but if something is meant to be, then it will be.”
It sounds like it’s gonna be a bumpy ride Trabby fans! Do you think true love will win out for them? We have our fingers crossed!
Chesapeake Shores season 4 premieres Aug. 25 on Hallmark Channel at 8pm.
