A daytime return is set! – An ‘All My Children’ alum is set to pop up in daytime again according to the latest issue of the Soap Opera Digest magazine. SOD shares that viewers can look forward for an ‘AMC’ alum to pop up on one of the current daytime soap operas; ‘The Young and the Restless’, ‘Days of Our Lives’, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ and ‘General Hospital’.
So who could be returning? Already it is specualted that fan favorite Vincent Irizarry [ex-David] could be going to ‘General Hospital’ where he will play his former ‘AMC’ character David Hayward, which will tie into the Anna Devane [Finola Hughes] storyline. There’s no confirmation to this rumor but Irizarry has not shut down his hopes to return to daytime after his off-screen exit from ‘Days of Our Lives’. In the coming months Irizarry will make his onscreen exit in the role of Deimos Kiriakis – could we see him popping up on any other of the daytime soap operas?
In recent times both Michael E. Knight [ex-Tad] and Susan Lucci [ex-Erica] revealed that they were open to going to ‘General Hospital’ – could one of them be the ‘AMC’ alum that SOD is referring to. Could Lucci be bringing Erica Kane to Port Charles or could Knight be bringing Tad Martin or could we see them on another soap opera? Since the cancellation of the show, Lucci has been absent from daytime but Knight has most recently played the role of Dr. Simon Neville on ‘The Young and the Restless’.
And, what about Cameron Mathison [ex-Ryan :avery] or Walt Willey [ex-Jack Montgomery]? In recent times there was speculation that both could be returning to daytime. It was rumored that Mathison was headed to ‘GH’ as Hayden Barnes’ [Rebecca Budig] husband, however this turned out to be just a rumor. Likewise it was rumored that Walt Willey was headed to ‘Y&R’ as Sharon’s father – Aaron Collins. Willey later confirmed that this news was just a rumor. So, could things have changed? Could Willey indeed be headed to ‘Y&R’ or could Mathison be headed to ‘GH’?
What are your thoughts? Which AMC alum do you think is popping up elsewhere in daytime?
