Crime in Salem Claims Lives
Who Shot Harris? The criminal underbelly of Salem is rearing its ugly head across Days of Our Lives. Wrapped up in Clyde Weston’s (James Read) drug pyramid is nearly the entirety of the Salem Police Department and their allies, known and unknown. Two questions remain unanswered that characters and viewers alike want answered: Who is responsible for the Horton House fire, and who shot Harris Michaels (Steve Burton)?
Dangerous drugs are littering the alleyways of Horton Town Square. Over the last few months, Ava, Stefan, and Harris sunk more deeply into games orchestrated by Weston from behind bars. Kate and her son Lucas, Gabbi Hernandez, Nicole, and Holly have brushed against or faced disaster head-on. The war against drugs is turning deadly.
Who Shot Harris?
Friday of last week, Days of Our Lives fans were shocked to witness the commitment of two extreme crimes. While the Horton House burned to the ground, Harris Michaels lay face down, bleeding out, with little chance of survival. The unknown assailant is still at large, and there are more questions than answers.
Investigative journalists at Soap Opera News have left no stone uncovered concerning the unanswered question of “Who shot Harris?” The suspect pool is surprisingly deep and isn’t all the usual suspects.
Officer Goldman
Officer Goldman (Christy St. John) is new to the viewers of Days of Our Lives; she also happens to be one of the newest Officers to dawn an SPD badge. Recently being spotted alongside Harris, Jada, and the rest in the aftermath of drug busts all across Salem, Officer Goldman was responsible for the death of a high-level drug dealer while trying to take them into custody.
Was this an accident, or was this on orders? Viewers recently witnessed a phone call between Clyde and an unknown person, to which he showed displeasure at a recent decision made without him. Could it have been Officer Goldman’s joining of the Drug Task Force?
Evidence is piling against Officer Goldman. With the pressure increasing, could she crack, revealing the entire truth?
Who Shot Harris? Officer Phillips?
Goldman’s partner, Phillips (Brian Molina), was firmly behind the story of the dealer’s shooting. While admitting to not witnessing it himself, there has been no doubt in his mind or waiver in his story that would suggest that he doesn’t believe Goldman.
Given the close nature of their working relationship and the potential for extreme profit by working with Clyde Weston, it is entirely possible that Phillips could be a bigger player than he is letting on. Could Officer Phillips be pulling the strings of Goldman? Is he the mole in the department? Are Goldman and Phillips working in tandem against the police?
Recently, Phillips launched some pointed looks and suspicious stares toward Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash), who is wrapped up in the tight control of Clyde and is quite unhappy to be.
Xander Kiriakis
Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) has been a bad boy on Days of Our Lives since its inception. Getting wrapped up in deadly games of cat-and-mouse assassinations is a lifestyle he knows well. Xander has a long history of criminal choices and has left a list of victims a mile long in the wake of his actions.
All of that changed when Xander became a loving partner and a father. Ready to leave his past behind him to focus on a better future between himself, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), and their daughter Victoria, Xander has taken several steps forward.
However, while one can try to leave “the life,” the life may be unwilling to let you go. Viewers were shown Xander receiving a cryptic phone call from a distorted voice informing him of a job to accomplish. While immediately resistant to the idea, could Xander have turned down a large payday while planning for his daughter’s future? Would his worst qualities win out?
Who Shot Harris? Everett Lynch?
Newcomer to Salem but already intertwined in the lives of longtime residents, Everett Lynch (Blake Berris) is proving to be a man who holds many secrets about his past.
While it is clear his eyes, heart, and mind are set on earning the attention of Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein), we’ve already seen that his history doesn’t begin and end with their relationship in Seattle.
Everett’s true intentions are questionable. While presenting a face of controlled perfection to the outside world, Everett has yet to tell anyone about his past relationship with Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu). He’s even gone as far as to avoid being spotted by her while at Brady’s Pub.
Everett’s position as editor-in-chief of the Spectator allows him access to powerful players in the city, privileged access to information others would only read about, and an influence over how the public may perceive any turn of events: Everett seems to have positioned himself in a position to control information, and with that could very well be a kingpin of the entire drug operation.
Harris is the key investigator and Everett may have seen him getting too close to stopping them all.
Of course, there could be many other likely suspects – who do you think short Harris on Days of our Lives?
