The nominations for the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, set to take place this October in Pasadena, were announced this week, and the competition for Outstanding Lead Actress is as fierce as any other category.
This year’s nominees include Eileen Davidson, Sharon Case, Melissa Claire Egan, Michelle Stafford, Laura Wright, and Nancy Lee Grahn. So now we want to hear from you — who do you think should take home the trophy? Cast your vote below!
A Look at the Nominees:
General Hospital
Nancy Lee Grahn
Grahn won her first Emmy back in 1989 for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role on Santa Barbara. Since then, she has earned multiple Emmy nominations and took home the award once again in 2012—this time for her performance on General Hospital.
Laura Wright
Wright is a multi-nominated actress, having been nominated in the Lead Actress category over five times. She won the award in 2011, and if she wins this time, it will be her second Emmy win overall.
The Young and the Restless
Eileen Davidson
Like Wright, Davidson is a multi-nominated actress. She has received several nominations in the Lead Actress category and won the award in 2014 for her role on Days of Our Lives and again in 2018 for her performance on The Young and the Restless.
Melissa Claire Egan
Egan has been nominated five times for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series—three for her work on All My Children and two for The Young and the Restless. This marks her third nomination in the Lead Actress category, and if she takes home the trophy this time, it will be her first-ever Emmy win.
Sharon Case
Case has been earning nominations since 1996. She won her first—and so far only—Emmy in 1999 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress. Her most recent nomination came in 2023. If she wins this time, it will mark her second Emmy win.
Michelle Stafford
Just like Case, Stafford began earning Emmy nominations in 1996. She won her first Emmy in 1997 for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Over the years, she has received numerous nominations, racking up at least ten in the Lead Actress category. This marks her third consecutive nomination in that category—and in fact, she took home the trophy in 2024.
