Natalia Livingston Aldag is a Daytime Emmy award-winning actress who is best known for her roles as; Emily Quartermaine/Rebecca Shaw on ‘General Hospital’, Taylor walker on ‘Days of Our Lives’ and Liza Park on the hit web series, “Tainted Dreams”. The series has garnered much success as they received a 2018 Daytime Emmy award nomination in the category of Outstanding Digital Series. Soap Opera News caught up with the former daytime star to talk a little about her acting career, pregnancy, if she would return to daytime and much more. Read the full interview below!
Congratulations on your baby. You’re about to become a first-time mom, you must be overjoyed? What has the experience been like for you so far and what are you looking forward to most?
Natalia: It’s been wonderful! We’re just so happy to be pregnant. It’s a real miracle and a dream come true for us! The first trimester was challenging. I was quite nauseous which was to be expected. I’m doing much better in the second trimester and have the energy to start thinking about her baby room, gathering supplies, baby clothes, etc.
Do you have any baby names in mind as yet or one finalized?
Natalia: Not just yet. We’re looking at French names in particular. We’re also thinking of adding my mother’s name (most likely as a middle name) to honor her in some way.
You recently worked on a new film called “Full Count” which is yet to be released, can you share your experience doing the film and what fans can expect from your character?
Natalia: I have nothing but incredible things to say about the cast and crew of Full Count. I played Jason London’s wife and truly enjoyed my time working opposite him. Great guy. I also loved working with Adam Boyer from Ozark, Afemo Omilami from True Detective, and others. Wonderful cast. And, our director Robert Eager was exceptional. He had such a positive, beautiful spirit about him which really translated to the whole project. It’s a faith-based film. I’d been wanting to do that type of movie for a long time. My character gives the story a lot of heart. She’s a strong, kind woman who works to support and lead her family to God and the pursuit of all good things. It was a real blessing.
The film also allowed you to reunite with former GH co-star Rick Hearst, what was that like?
Natalia: It’s always wonderful working with Rick! He’s top notch in every way. It was fun to see him in a cop uniform! I’m thrilled to have him as one of the core teachers at my acting studio in Atlanta called Actor Boutique. Students absolutely adore him. He has so much wisdom and is truly skilled at translating his experience to other actors. We’re honored to have him!
Your former on-screen partner Tyler Christopher is now on Days of Our Lives as Stefan DiMera and fans would love to see you return as Taylor Walker and possibly paired with him – what do you say about that?
Natalia: I’d do that anytime. Taylor might have to be pregnant, though, for at least the next few months. 🙂  I don’t think that James Scott and I had the chemistry we needed for that particular couple to work. I’m sure a pairing with Tyler (as E.J.) would be a hit. I’m busy and happy in Atlanta producing, acting, running my business and having a baby, but it would always be fun to come back for a bit!
Do you have any other gigs on the horizon?
Natalia: I’m currently producing a documentary on the opioid crisis, following 6 men who are re-entering society after having served long prison sentences. We have an Oscar Award Winning Director attached and our E.P. is a prominent member of the Kennedy Family. It’s an incredible story. We’ll be pitching to television companies or submitting to film festivals soon! Sundance here we come! It’s an exciting time! On the acting front, I’d like to say how thrilled I am for Alicia Minshew on her nomination for Tainted Dreams! She so deserves it! Go get em’, Alicia!
Now that you’re about to welcome your baby into this world will you be giving acting a break to raise this child?
Natalia: I’ll definitely need a few months to recover. I’d really love to act in or direct a play – by one of the great playwrights of our time. That’s been a dream of mine for a very long time. I’m hoping to make that dream (and others!) a reality after the baby is born. I want her to see her mom as a strong, passionate, kind woman who tackles her dreams and makes them happen! I can tell you for sure – one of my greatest dreams has already come true as we await the arrival of our baby girl!
