After years of being absent from television, Michael Muhney who became well-known to daytime viewers as Adam Newman on ‘The Young and the Restless’ made his television return as Mr. Gallico on ‘The Good Doctor’ last month. Muhney did an excellent job with his new role and while fans were hopeful that Muhney would’ve been a regular cast member that’s not the case at the moment. However, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future, especially since the show’s lead Freddie Highmore gave him nothing but high praise. In an interview with Toronto Sun, Highmore shares, “He was great. In fact, I think that was my favourite episode. That felt like a very personal intimate story and obviously at the centre of it was Shaun and his kind of coming to terms with his growing realization and acceptance of his brother’s death. I think Michael was brilliant (as Mr. Gallico). The whole family unit was exceptional and he was so great in that final scene as he came to terms with the fact that his son was most likely going to die. And Dylan (Kingwell), who plays Shaun’s brother in the flashbacks, was great in that episode as well — he is a wonderful actor. And it was nice to get to work with him as opposed to seeing him work with my younger self.”
So, fans are you hoping Muhney will be hired for “The Good Doctor” as a series regular in the future? Are you missing him as Adam Newman on ‘Y&R’
