It was no fun and joke when Nina (Cynthia Watros) showed up at Carly’s (Laura Wright) place in the General Hospital episode that aired on May 19. Soap fans know drama, and boy, do they love it! That’s why they keep coming back for more.

Today, when Nina and Carly’s long-simmering tension finally exploded — fists were flying, tempers flaring and social media was buzzing with reactions to the epic slap-fest between these two soap queens.

But hey, they couldn’t have done it without the help of some stunt legends. What you saw was a masterfully choreographed fight scene, made possible by the incredible stunt doubles behind the action.

The Stars Behind the Fight

While Cynthia Watros (Nina) and Laura Wright (Carly) have delivered countless unforgettable confrontations over the years, this particular showdown called for some serious support. Enter the fabulous Heather Leah Bonomo as Carly’s stand-in, and the brilliant Kara Smith as Nina’s double.

Bonomo is a stunt performer and coordinator with over a decade of experience. Some of her work includes American Sniper, WandaVision, Grey’s Anatomy, 1923, CSI: Vegas just to name a few.

Smith, on the other hand, merged her love for acting and martial arts to become a stunt professional. Her credits include, 9-1-1, Big Sky, Mayans M.C., Into the Dark and more.

Carly and Nina’s Fight

Their behind-the-scenes magic — the hits, the falls, and the glorious chaos — set social media ablaze with chatter and those #TeamNina and #TeamCarly hashtags were trending hard! Fans were living for it! EThe official GH social media team even gave a shoutout: ” Nina and Carly’s battle royale wouldn’t have been possible without the expertise of stunt performers.” 

Thumbs up to Cynthia, Laura, Kara, and Heather. Double the trouble, double the fun! General Hospital, we need more!
