Y&R Recap: A Christmas to Remember

The Young and the Restless Recap for Today, December 22, 2023:

What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Michael thinks outside the box to surprise Lauren, Daniel is reminded of the true meaning of Christmas, and Phyllis puts coal in Christine’s stocking.

Lauren meets Christine at Society with Danny’s Christmas present and quizzes her about the status of their relationship. Christine tells her that they are getting closer but she doesn’t want to jinx it.

Michael arrives before they can talk more about it and Christine leaves to give Danny his gift. After she is gone, Michael gives Lauren one of her gifts and tells her that she can open it now. She does and finds a key to their favorite suite at the hotel.

Michael tells her that he will meet her there in 10 minutes before kissing her and leaving.

Danny, Daniel, Lily, and Heather decorate the tree and talk about Christmas memories and how nice it is to be together this year. 

Phyllis and Summer arrive and Phyllis is very happy to see Danny there. They all have eggnog and go around and say what they are thankful for before toasting to family and love. They are all singing Christmas songs when Christine shows up and Phyllis answers the door. Neither woman is happy to see the other but Danny is thrilled she is there and invites her in. 

They all make plans for a potluck on Christmas and then Summer reminds Phyllis that they are meeting Nick for dinner. Phyllis reluctantly agrees to leave, and Heather says her goodbyes, too. 

After they are alone, Christine gives Danny a vintage silk robe once owned by Bryan Ferry and he gives her a replica of the bracelet he had given her on their honeymoon that got lost on a trip they took to Cabo. They are both touched by the gift the other gave them and they share a kiss.

Tucker is in his room at the GAC, fielding a call from a reporter looking for a quote about the emails that were released. He angrily yells at them before hanging up the phone.

Abby and Devon have dinner at the GAC and talk about how excited they are for Christmas with Dominic. Abby asks if Devon is going to make the 7-layer bars he always makes at Christmas and he remembers his first Christmas with Dru, Neil, and Lily. He tells her that it was the first time in his life that he felt like he was part of a real family.

Abby asks him if he’s ok because he’s been quiet and he tells her that he is unhappy about things with Tucker. He tells her about the email scandal and she can’t believe Tucker was stupid enough to have done that. Devon wonders if he should try and get Tucker’s side of the story but Abby doesn’t think anything can excuse what was done. 

Tucker comes downstairs and sits with them and tries to explain his side of things but it doesn’t change anything with Devon. Tucker asks if he can come by later in the evening to give Dominic his Christmas gifts and Devon says that he can but tells Tucker he doesn’t want a relationship with him. An emotional Tucker thanks them for allowing him to see Dominic before leaving. Devon wonders if he did the right thing and Abby tells him that he did.
