Y&R Recap: Claire Saves Nikki’s Life

 

The Young and the Restless Recap December 26, 2023:

What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Nikki faces her demons and confronts Jordan in an ultimate showdown.

Victor is worried about Nikki’s whereabouts and is seeking answers. Victoria and Nick quickly head over to the Ranch, where Victor tells them that their mother has not been seen since she left the club last night. Victoria suspects that Jordan may have something to do with Nikki’s disappearance. The family is worried as they know Nikki would never want to spend the holiday away from them. Victor then suggests that Nikki might be drinking again, but he hates to even bring it up. 

Victor shares with them that Nate approached him, who believes that Nikki has started drinking again. Nick thinks Nate is just holding a grudge against them, but Victoria disagrees. She doesn’t think Nate would go that far. Victor tells them that he was hesitant to believe Nate at first, but when Nikki saw them talking, she ran off as if she was guilty. 

Nick thinks that Jordan must have something to do with Nikki’s sudden disappearance and not her drinking. To confirm their suspicions, Victor checks the vodka bottle and realizes that it is filled with water.

Cole arrives and discovers that Nikki is also missing. Victoria finds Nikki’s purse and searches through it. Inside, she finds a flask and a note with an address written on it – 72 Darkside Lane, Williamsbay. Cole recognizes the address as the cabin where his mother took him when he was a child. Nick contacts the police to update them, and he and Victor leave to search for Nikki. While they are on their way, Victor promises Nick that if Nikki has been hurt, there will be hell to pay. Back at the ranch, Cole shares a theory with Victoria that Claire may have teamed up with Jordan to continue their revenge on Nikki. Victoria refuses to believe this and says that once she learned that Claire was their daughter, everything changed.

Nikki arrives at the designated location and Jordan appears holding a gun. Jordan asks Nikki if she had any trouble finding the place and Nikki says no. She confirms that she followed Jordan’s instructions by leaving her car and using the rented car, and that she was alone the entire time as per the instructions.

Jordan then teases Nikki, asking how many years of sobriety she destroyed for her. Nikki tells Jordan to be quiet and demands that she take her to see Claire. 

Nikki explains that Claire should not have to suffer because of Jordan’s mental instability. Jordan asks why Nikki would follow her orders, and Nikki replies that she is doing it for her daughter. She would do anything for her children. Jordan wonders if that means she would also be willing to die for them.

Jordan is moved by the way the Newmans take care of each other. Nikki questions whether Jordan has had enough revenge and suggests giving Claire a chance at a normal life. 

Nikki begs Jordan to release Claire. Jordan scoffs at Nikki’s attempt to make a deal while she is drunk. Nikki urges Jordan to let go of the past and accept that nothing she does will bring back Eve. Jordan responds that watching Nikki die would be punishment enough.

Nikki says she needs a drink, and Jordan brings her one. She promises no drugs or poison are in it, advising that she is honoring Nikki’s last request before she kills her. Jordan tells Nikki that Claire is indeed there and that she needs to be so that she can witness the grand finale just before wheeling out an unconscious Claire.

 

As Claire wakes up, Nikki hits Jordan on the head with a bottle and attempts to free Claire from the chair. However, Jordan grabs Nikki and a fight ensues. During the tussle, with Jordan holding Nikki against the wall, Claire picks up the gun and demands that Jordan let Nikki go. Jordan steps away and urges Claire to put the gun down. She tries to convince Claire that she is not her enemy, but Nikki reminds Claire that Jordan doesn’t care about her. 

Jordan tries to manipulate Claire by playing with her emotions. Claire responds by telling Jordan that she is evil and doesn’t deserve to live. Nikki intervenes by pushing Jordan aside and pleading with Claire to give her the gun. Claire hands over the gun to Nikki, and they hug each other as Claire cries in Nikki’s arms. 

Later, the police arrive and arrest Jordan, taking her away in handcuffs. Victor and Nick arrive, and they are joyfully reunited with Nikki. 

Nikki asks Victor to take her home, and Nick inquires if they are also taking Claire with them. Nikki confirms that they are taking Claire with them because she saved her life, and if it wasn’t for her, she might have died. Victor then expresses his gratitude to Claire, and she breaks down in tears, apologizing for everything.
