Y&R Recap: A New Year’s Eve Vow Renewal

 

The Young and the Restless Recap December 28, 2023:

What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Michael and Lauren find a unique way to ring in the New Year, while Ashley struggles with her feelings for Tucker.

Kevin and Chloe are preparing for Lauren and Michael’s vow renewal and Gloria is being critical of their choices. 

Kevin tells her that she is free to help them and she says that she is multi-tasking. Everyone is in good spirits and Kevin and Chloe are flirtatious and loving to each other.

Christine and Danny kiss on Daniel’s couch, and she apologizes for thinking he was still interested in Phyllis. She talks about how far she has come this year and how much he has meant to her on that journey. 

Danny tells her that he can’t wait to see where things go with them. 

They are making out on the couch when Daniel comes in and catches them. They joke about it, and they invite him to join them for dinner.

Daniel tells them he already has plans to have a video call with Lily and then watch rom-coms and eat junk food. 

Lucy and Heather surprise him by showing up with movies and junk food and Danny and Christine leave them all to it. Daniel, Lucy, and Heather watch movies together until Heather realizes they have both fallen asleep. 

She cuddles up to Daniel and falls asleep on his chest. Lucy wakes up and covers them with a blanket before taking a picture of them and going to her room. 

Daniel wakes up and tries to move, which wakes Heather up. He apologizes for waking her up, but she tells him that she didn’t even realize she had fallen asleep. They look at each other for a moment and then she catches him by surprise when she kisses him. After a moment, he kisses her back.

Tucker is talking to Phyllis about wanting to leave town when Ashley comes into the Jazz Room and overhears him. She asks Phyllis to let them talk alone, and after she leaves, Ashley quizzes Tucker about his plans, and he tries to get her to leave him alone. She reminds him that Devon and Dominic need him and Dominic loves him, but he doesn’t want to hear it from her. Ashley can tell he is angry and asks if he is going to be violent with her again and Tucker is confused, saying he has never been violent with her. 

She tells him that he broke a wine glass and threw a chair in Paris, but he argues that wasn’t what happened. Tucker tells her that he knocked over a wine glass accidentally and pushed the chair out of his way while he was leaving but denies he did anything violent. Ashley can’t believe he doesn’t remember it the way she does, but he tells her they are done before leaving the Jazz Room.

Y&R Recap Today

Lauren and Michael have dinner at the GAC before their vow renewal and talk about how much they love each other. They are excited to get remarried at midnight. 

Phyllis comes in and vents to them about Danny and Christine, and they both wonder if she wants Danny for herself. Phyllis denies that she does and claims that she is just looking out for the father of her son. Danny and Christine come in, and Phyllis raises her glass to them.

Danny wonders if they should go somewhere else, but Christine refuses to back down to Phyllis, and they go over to the table. Lauren compliments her bracelet and Christine tells her that Danny gave it to her for Christmas and that it is a replica of one he gave her on their honeymoon. Tucker walks in and Phyllis calls him over and pretends they have a date that night. He goes along with it and promises to see her later before kissing her goodbye and leaving. 

Everyone is stunned, but Phyllis tells Lauren and Michael that it’s a business thing. Lauren tells her that they would like her to attend their vow renewal, and before they leave, Michael makes it clear that they expect her to be there.

Y&R Recap Today

Ashley gets home and pours herself a drink when she realizes she is alone. She gets a text from Jack inviting her to join them at the Jazz Room, but she ignores it and thinks about her fight in Paris with Tucker. In his room, Tucker remembers their fight in Paris differently and then gets a text from Phyllis thanking him for helping her earlier and telling him he is under no obligation to follow through on their fake plans. He texts back that his offer of a drink together is still open.

Y&R Recap Today

Lauren and Michael get to Society and are thrilled with how everything looks. Gloria shows them a bottle of champagne that Scott sent to make up for not being there, and they get started on the ceremony. They each make emotional speeches to each other, and Phyllis shows up before they finish.

Lauren and Michael exchange rings and kiss just as Kevin starts counting down to midnight and they all celebrate the new year and the vow renewal together.
