The Young and the Restless Recap for Today, December 14, 2023:
What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Victor receives suspicious news, Nikki goes to great lengths to hide her drinking, Danny receives a tempting invitation from Phyllis, and Jordan plots her next move.
Y&R Recap Today
Phyllis visits Daniel’s place but finds Danny instead. She has brought a housewarming gift for her son and wants to drop it off. Danny lets her in and she realizes that he is working on some music.
Since Daniel is unavailable, she offers to take him to lunch instead. However, she doesn’t want to disrupt Danny’s creative flow. Danny says that he is working on a new song and is happy to be back in the recording studio. Feeling hungry, he decides to take her up on the offer to go for lunch.
At Society, Chance meets Christine, who is happy to see that he is doing better. However, he informs her that he is stepping down as Chief of Police and leaving the force. He has thought about it a lot and is heading into the corporate world since Jill has offered him a position at Chancellor Winters. Summer overhears their conversation. As she walks in, she wonders if Christine doesn’t approve of Chance’s decision. Christine admits that she is having a hard time picturing Chance in an office dealing with numbers and quarterly reports. She wishes him the best and promises to see him soon
Christine is about to leave when she bumps into Danny and Phyllis. Phyllis is having a ton of laughter and Danny reveals that Phyllis came in search of Daniel but found him instead and invited him to lunch. Phyllis boasts that she inspired one of Danny’s songs. She says that Danny was working so hard and she just begged him to go out with her. Christine requests to talk with Danny for a second and they go outside.
She questions him about having lunch with Phyllis, mentioning their recent dinner and the good time they had, and wonders if she was misinterpreting things. Christine feels like she sounds like a jealous teenager. Danny tells her that the lunch with Phyllis is just two old friends enjoying each other’s company, but on the other hand, what he had with Christine is more about the future. They share a kiss as Phyllis watches from inside the Society.
Y&R Recap Today
Chloe runs into Nick at Crimson Lights and notices that he seems upset. She assumes it has to do with Sally and asks if everything is okay. Nick clarifies that his relationship with Sally is now strictly professional and he is fine with that. Chloe suggests that Adam is pulling Sally back into his orbit, but Nick insists that it’s not his problem. Chloe thinks he should at least try to fix things with Sally if he truly loves her. However, Nick explains that while he loved what they had, it’s not his responsibility to save Sally from Adam. He knows that Adam is a disaster and even Sally knows, but she’s still willing to risk everything to be with him. This tells Nick everything he needs to know. Chloe disagrees and urges Nick not to give up so easily if he truly loves Sally. She doesn’t want to watch Sally and Adam reunite and thinks Nick should fight for his relationship with Sally.
Sally and Adam meet for their lunch date at the GCAC. Sally questions if they can really hit the reset button, and Adam is hopeful that they can at least try. Sally talks about how much she loves work and having her wingwoman working with her again, and Adam is glad that Chloe is working with her again despite knowing that Chloe hates him. He is just glad Sally has someone who will always have her back. Adam then talks about the positive connection he and his father are having, at least for now. Sally and Adam make plans to have dinner.
Y&R Recap Today
Jordan is in her motel room plotting her next move, and she says the Newmans will never see it coming. She receives an alert of an APB about her. Jordan calls the Genoa City police tip lines, pretending to be someone giving a tip on the whereabouts of the woman who is after the Newmans.
Victor and Michael discuss Claire Grace’s case. Victor is worried that taking on this case will have an emotional impact on Victoria, even though he understands her perspective. He believes that Claire is still a threat and is determined to protect his family at all costs. Victor is especially concerned about Victoria because Claire previously tried to harm her and his family. Michael, on the other hand, thinks that Claire is not as much of a monster as Jordan. After meeting with Claire and hearing her side of the story, Michael notes that there is some genuine pain there and reminds Victor that there’s a possibility that she is his granddaughter. However, Victor is firm in his stance and wants Claire behind bars. He doesn’t wish Michael good luck with the case.
Victoria visits her mom and confesses that she cannot believe what is happening. She reveals that Michael has agreed to take Claire’s case. Victoria is worried because she doesn’t know if this is a good idea, but she thinks it’s the right thing to do. Michael thinks Claire is a victim and has met with her. Victoria also reveals that Claire could be free on bail as soon as today since Michael is on his way to Oregon for the arraignment.
Nikki is worried that this could be part of a bigger scheme. She thinks that once Claire is free, she will reunite with Jordan and launch another attack on their family. Nikki questions the possibility of Claire tricking them about the DNA, but Victoria notes that they have already thought about that. Cole went back to the house in Oregon and got some items with Claire’s DNA, and now they are getting a rush DNA test with or without Claire’s cooperation. Nikki still thinks Claire is playing on Victoria’s confusion and compassion. Victoria admits that she cannot think too far ahead, but she has to focus on Claire, a damaged young woman who needs help.
Victor arrives home and is happy to see Victoria. Nikki notes that she came early from work, but she’s okay. Victor reveals that they have a lead on Jordan. The police got a tip about a woman fitting her description checking into a motel on the outskirts of town. Victoria thinks if Jordan is in town, then she is not done with them. Victor advises Nikki to stay at The Ranch so she can be safe, but Nikki says she is not going to hide because she will not let that woman keep her prisoner ever again. Victor gets an alert that Jordan isn’t at the motel, but she left behind evidence that proves she has set out to do some more damage. Victor wants to go there for himself and check it out, so he calls Nick and asks him to meet him at the Athletic Club. Victoria doesn’t want to leave her mom, but Nikki promises she will be fine. As Victoria leaves, Nikki fills her flask with vodka after having a drink. She then refills the bottle of vodka.
Nick spots Adam and Sally having lunch as he arrives at the GCAC. After meeting with Victor, they head over to the motel. Upon arrival, they find Jordan’s items and some pictures, leading Victor to suspect that it’s a set-up.
Michael visits Claire and informs her that he plans to request her immediate release so she can enter a mental health diversion program. Claire is unsure whether it’s that simple. However, he explains that she needs to plead guilty by reason of insanity for this to happen.
Meanwhile, Jordan, disguised, checks into a room at the GCAC.
