Y&R Recap: Claire’s True Identity Revealed

The Young and the Restless Recap for Today, December 18, 2023:

 

What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Victor keeps his guard up, Billy informs Jack he’s leaving Jabot, Victoria and Cole learn the truth about Claire.

Audra meets Tucker and admits that she underestimated Kyle, but she now knows better. Tucker believes it is impossible to underestimate Kyle. Audra tells Tucker that Kyle sees right through him. She asks Tucker directly if Kyle is correct about him. Tucker wants to know why she is concerned if Kyle is the one who takes the blame. 

Tucker admits that the plan he presented to Kyle is not true, but he thinks Kyle will run to Jack and tell him the whole story. Tucker reminds Audra to remain focused on the goal of getting to the top, and the method used to achieve it does not matter. Audra reveals that Kyle thinks Tucker is setting him up. She says she does not have the skills to persuade him to go along with a plan that leaves him with nothing. 

Tucker thinks Kyle is not trustworthy, and Audra cannot make up her mind about him. Tucker wonders where the sudden lack of faith is coming from. He believes Audra let “this kid” get under her skin. Audra tells Tucker he should not refer to Kyle as a kid and wants to know what guarantee she has that Tucker will not turn on her. 

Tucker tells her she is letting Kyle get to her, and his future is with his family, but hers is with him. Tucker says that he trusts nobody else but her. He claims he is doing this for her and then shares that he wants Chancellor-Winters for Devon, and Jabot is the jewel that he is saving for her. She thinks he is lying, but he claims he is not. Tucker apologizes for insulting her and says there is a whole list of things he wants to do, but insulting her is not on it. Tucker gets an alert, learning that the paperwork went through, and now he is the sole owner of Glacade.

Y&R Recap Today

Diane asks Kyle about the progress he has made regarding Tucker’s plan. Kyle reveals that Tucker wants to ruin Jabot’s profits and get back at Ashley and others. He plans to make someone take the fall, either Billy or Diane. Diane is shocked and doesn’t know whether to feel relieved or angry. 

Kyle tells her that the competition for the worst Abbott is between her and Billy. Tucker wants Kyle to steal Jabot’s newest product before it hits the market and pass it off to the lab at Glacade to replicate it. This way, Jabot will be left with a cheap imposter. Kyle believes Tucker won’t buy his act much longer if he doesn’t steal any product from Jabot. Diane thinks this is the perfect reason for Kyle to tell his father everything. Kyle says that once they have Jack’s support, Tucker won’t stand a chance, and everything will fall into place.

Billy asks Jack why the mansion is so quiet. Jack tells him that Diane and Kyle went to breakfast. Billy then reveals that he is leaving Jabot, which surprises Jack, as Billy fought hard to get the job and even battled with Kyle for it. However, Billy explains that their mother offered him a job at Chancellor-Winters, and he believes that working there will be better for him, especially with the ongoing war with Tucker. 

Jack wants Billy to stay and give him a good reason to leave, but Billy insists that he needs to go. Jack notes that the stakes will still be high at Chancellor-Winters and asks Billy what will change. Billy reveals that it is all about him and his desire to take Tucker down to beat Jack. By going to Chancellor-Winters, he takes the pressure off himself and gets to work with his mother and Chance now that he is leaving the force. Jack admits that he will miss Billy, and Billy leaves. 

Jack then talks to Kyle and Diane, revealing that Billy left the company because of him. Jack asks to speak to Diane alone, and they discuss what will happen now that Billy is gone. Diane thinks everything should go back to how it was, and Kyle should get his COO position back, but Jack disagrees. 

Y&R Recap Today

At the Ranch, Victoria and Cole visit Nikki while waiting for the results of the DNA test. 

Michael returns from Oregon and updates them on Claire’s situation. He explains that he has requested Claire to be released to a medical facility instead of a prison due to her pleading guilty by reason of insanity. The psych ward at Genoa City Memorial could provide her with extensive care. However, Nikki is concerned that this could disrupt Claire’s recovery. They also discuss Jordan, who is still missing, and Victor shares his suspicion about how Jordan left all her belongings in the room for them to discover. Meanwhile, Michael receives a call.

Victor asks Nikki if she’s alright. She expresses her concern, knowing that Jordan is nearby. Victor assures her that Jordan will never come near their family again. Michael arrives to inform everyone that the judge has ruled that Claire should be admitted to a psychiatric ward in Genoa City. He informs them that she is on her way to GC at the moment. 

Nikki feels that everything is happening too quickly. Victoria believes it’s time for the healing process to begin. Nikki reminds them that they don’t really know who Claire is, just as Cole receives an alert on his phone confirming that Claire is his and Victoria’s daughter. Victoria and Cole want to visit Claire. Nikki thinks they should discuss it first, but Victoria can’t stop thinking about Claire and leaves with Cole and Michael.

Nikki shares her concerns with Victor about Victoria feeling pressured to appear stronger and braver than she actually is. Victor assures her that their love will protect Victoria. However, Nikki reminds him that welcoming Claire into their lives won’t be easy, but it’s necessary if they want to keep Victoria in their lives. While Victor gets a call from his security people at the motel, Nikki takes out her flask and drinks, then spots Jordan outside. Meanwhile, Victoria and Cole visit Claire at Memorial and tell her that they tested her DNA against theirs, which confirmed that she is their daughter.
