The Young and the Restless Recap for Today, December 6, 2023:
What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Victor is concerned about Nikki’s sobriety, Lily confides in Nick, and Tucker schemes to recruit Nate.

Nate is currently at the GCAC and sends a text message to Devon, asking if they can discuss his proposal.
While he is there, Tucker walks in and greets him as the man of the hour. However, Nate tells him that he is not in the mood for whatever he is about to say. Tucker reassures him that he has nothing but praise and accolades for him after hearing about his bold move regarding Victor. Nate responds by saying that he has no idea what he is talking about, but Tucker advises him not to be modest. Tucker then asks Nate about what really happened at Newman. Nate wonders how he heard about it, but Tucker says that he gathers information and tries not to take stories at face value.
Tucker suggests that Nate stop wasting his time and talents in all the wrong places. He goes on to say that Audra informed him about her invitation for Nate to join their alliance. Tucker admits that he was on the fence about the idea, but the move Nate made with Victor won him over. Tucker claims that they are putting together a team of people who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, and Nate is the kind of man they need.
Nate was unaware that Audra’s new business venture involved Tucker. However, now that he knows, it changes everything. Nate expresses his dislike for Tucker’s connection to Audra and his aunt Mamie. Tucker appreciates Nate’s attitude and tells him not to lose that edge. Tucker leaves, but tells Nate that if he changes his mind, he knows where to find him. Nate calls Audra and requests an immediate discussion about her offer.

Nate proceeds to pay Audra a visit and finds out that Tucker is also there. He asks Audra why she didn’t tell him that Tucker was there, but she says she didn’t get a chance.
Nate then asks why she didn’t tell him that Tucker was involved in her new venture. Audra requests that Tucker leave so they can talk privately. Nate demands to know what they are planning and why she kept Tucker’s involvement a secret. Audra reveals that they are making a move on a company, but it’s not Chancellor Winters. Nate realizes they are going after Jabot. She tells Nate that he doesn’t have many other options. Nate then receives a text from Devon saying that he is ready to meet. Nate tells Audra that maybe he does have other options.
Nick arrives at Crimson Lights and takes off his jacket, visibly in pain. Lily notices him and asks if he’s okay. Nick admits he’s in pain but doesn’t want to talk about it, as he’s trying to move on.
Lily understands and changes the subject to Newman and Nate. She wants to know the full story before she, Jill, and Devon make any decisions. Nick tells her that Nate tried to get rid of his dad and clear a path for him and Victoria. Lily thinks it sounds more complicated than that, pointing out that his father was pretending to be ill to set a trap for them. She thinks what his dad did was horrible.
Lily is questioning whether Nate was trying to protect Victor and Newman Enterprises. Nick is surprised that she is defending him. Lily clarifies that she is not defending him, but maybe they were too quick to assume that his intentions were bad. Nick believes that Nate had the most to gain. Lily asks Nick if he thinks the punishment fits the crime. She wonders if Adam or Victoria did the same as Nate, would their dad have fired them on the spot as he did with Nate.
Nick thinks that any of them would have been fired. He believes that Nate made a power play move, and Lily thanks him for his honesty. Nick thinks that Lily dodged a bullet with Nate the first time, and he doesn’t understand why she is considering rehiring him. Devon enters the room and says that he was thinking about the same thing. Nick receives a message from his dad asking to meet at the office. He has to go, but Lily wishes him a speedy recovery.

Devon informs Lily that his meeting with Victor was enlightening. According to Devon, Nate has burned bridges at Newman, and Nick seems to share the same sentiment. Lily wonders what this means for them. She believes that there must be some truth to Nate’s argument, considering that he used to be Victor’s doctor and would care about him. However, Devon disagrees, stating that Nate is no longer a doctor and has lost his mind since entering the corporate world. The siblings agree to reject Nate’s proposal, and they believe that Mamie will understand their decision. Esther interrupts their conversation, commenting on how lovely it is to see them getting along and asking about the state of Chancellor Winters. She suggests that Mrs. C would be pleased to see Nate back. As Esther leaves, the siblings wonder if they can help Nate before he falls too low. Nate arrives, and Lily informs him that they have made a decision.

Nikki pours herself a glass of vodka and has a drink. As Victor comes back, she quickly gets rid of the evidence. He brings her a cup of tea and tells her that after what she has been through, he will do anything to help her. Victor notes that he is worried about her, and Nikki responds by telling him that she is more concerned about him, Nick and Victoria when she thinks about what could have happened; she could have lost all of them. Victor is happy she didn’t and that the poison is out of all of their system. He looks at her and says he knows what’s going on. She inquires what does he think is going on and he notes that he knows she has been putting up a brave front for the family but having that alcohol poured into her veins is not something that she can brush aside. She admits that she is struggling. It’s nearly five years since her last drink and now her sobriety is gone. She is trying not to blame herself because she is aware of where that kind of self-pity can lead. Victor blames himself and his affair with Eve Howard years ago but Nkki tells him not to dwell on that. He agrees and decides to focus on solutions.
Victor asks who she can call for help. She tells him that in the past, she would call Katherine or Neil. Victor then suggests that she should contact her sponsor. She agrees to do so, but she needs to attend her meeting first. Victor offers to accompany her, but she prefers to go alone and use the time to gather her thoughts. She proposes that they could have lunch together later, and Victor agrees. He also mentions that he will talk to Nick in the meantime.

Nikki gets another call from an unknown number with loud music playing in the background. Nikki find the music familiar but somehow cannot place it.
Later, Nikki sits in her AA meeting and gives her speech. She notes it’s nice to see some familiar faces and then talks about having a nightmare, one that turned out to be real. Her four years, eleven months, and twenty-one days of sobriety are over, and the most infuriating part is that it was her fault. She tells them that she was literally forced to inject vodka into her system against her will. Nikki explains how she was kidnapped by an evil, deranged woman who knew her history. She is afraid that the demon has awakened, but she did not take the first drink; she took the second and the third. Nikki acknowledges being terrified but says she cannot go down that road again, and she won’t. On her way out, Nikki disposes of the drink that was in her bag.
Nick meets his father at the office, who informs him that Nikki has gone to an AA meeting. Nick then asks if his father has heard from Victoria, to which Victor replies that she and Cole have gone to Oregon to find out if Claire is their daughter. Nick expresses his concern that Claire might continue to play mind games with them. Victor reassures him that his sister is a smart lady and will figure it out. Nick then asks his father to tell him about Eve Howard, but Victor is reluctant to talk about it. However, Nick insists that he needs to know. Victor says, suffice to say, Eve tried to kill him the way her sister Jordan tried to and she almost ruined his first wedding to Nikki. Nick points out that they were lucky to have made it out alive. Victor responds by saying that he hasn’t had any luck finding Jordan. Nick tells him that they need to find her and bring her to justice. Victor realizes the importance of sticking together as a family after this experience.
Nikki and Victor meet for lunch at the GCAC. She tells him about her AA meeting. She says her alcoholism was a thing of the past but now Claire and Jordan have taken that away. Victor reminds her that she is stronger than this. He assures her that he will support her every step of the way and help her through this difficult time. She is grateful for his unwavering faith in her. Suddenly, her phone starts ringing, but she chooses to ignore it.
Victor inquires about the caller’s identity, but she dismisses it as unimportant. She then confides in him that she has been receiving calls from an unknown number, and whenever she answers, she hears music playing, but no one speaks. This has been making her feel uneasy, and she wonders if it is somehow connected to the current situation. Victor suspects that Jordan may be trying to manipulate Nikki’s thoughts. He asks Nikki to describe the music she heard, but she is unable to provide any meaningful information. Victor comes up with an idea and takes Nikki to a pianist who can help them identify the music. As the pianist plays the tune that Nikki describes, Nikki realizes that it’s a song she used to dance to during her days as a stripper. They suspect that Jordan is behind this, trying to break Nikki’s spirit and remind her of her past.
Meanwhile, Jordan checks into a Genoa City motel.
