The Young and the Restless Recap for Today, December 8, 2023:
What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Michael surprises Phyllis, Danny cooks up a romantic night for Christine, and Ashely stands her ground with Jack and Billy.

Tucker is trying to convince Mamie that he has changed his ways at the GCAC. He admits that he used to love the idea of revenge, but it does not seem as appealing to him anymore. While they are talking, Ashley walks in. Tucker tells her that he thinks it is time for him to do something more productive.
However, Mamie does not believe that Tucker truly wants to be a better person. She tells him that her family means everything to her, and she will do everything in her power to protect them. Mamie leaves, and Ashley takes a seat near Tucker, asking him to share about his pathway to positivity and productivity. Tucker claims that nothing will make him happier because Ashley is intimately involved. He also says that he is making better decisions now and has stopped seeking revenge.
Ashley thinks that Tucker wants to conquer the world. But Tucker surprises her by revealing that his lawyers are drafting up an offer for her 50% of the company which she had previously offered to sell him. She wonders what she is supposed to do with such a generous offer. Tucker tells her that there are no strings attached, and she can do whatever she wants with it. Ashley wonders what Tucker is really up to. Tucker admits that she is struggling to believe that he has changed his ways. He thinks he can turn the company into gold and admits that he just needs somebody to believe in it. Ashley reveals that she has changed her mind and won’t be selling her half of Glacade.

Diane, Billy, Jack, and Jill discuss the possibility of working together to fight against a common enemy. They all agree that if they unite, they will be unstoppable in their efforts. Jill suggests that they hit Tucker where it hurts the most, in an effort to cause him irreparable harm. She believes that they can strike gold this way and bring Tucker down for good.
Jill reveals that Tucker has been funneling money into a company that he and Ashley bought before they were married, which they thought had been abandoned. Jack wonders how he missed this fact and concludes that Tucker wants to destroy Jabot from the inside out rather than own it.
They all agree that they need a weapon to use against Tucker, but Billy reminds them that they already have one: the truth. However, Jack suggests they speak to Ashley first, as she owns half of the company that they are planning to decimate. Diane thinks they should keep Tucker distracted, and Jill offers to take care of that.
Jill tells Billy that if he wants to continue working with the Abbotts, she can’t do much about it. Billy replies that if they take down Tucker, he won’t need to be her sidekick anymore. Jill tells him that she didn’t want him as her sidekick but rather as a genuine partner since he is her son.
Billy is planning to investigate Tucker and Ashley’s company. He shares his suspicion with Jack and Diane that Ashley must have a plan of her own. When Ashley walks in, she asks them what plan they want to discuss. She wonders if it is about her company. However, she reveals that Tucker is going to make an offer to buy half of their company, Glacade. They discuss whether Ashley should sell to him or not. They also reveal that they are working with Jill to shut Tucker down once and for all. Meanwhile, Tucker meets with his lawyer and tells her that he wants to be the sole proprietor of the company. He wants her to find a way to remove Ashley from the company.

Christine has a run-in with Phyllis at Crimson Lights, hoping for a quiet moment. However, Phyllis starts inquiring about the rumor of Christine vacating the D.A office. Christine is frustrated that Phyllis thinks that what she does is any of her business. Christine asks Phyllis why she is prying, and Phyllis denies it. Christine wonders what Phyllis is up to, and Phyllis tells her that she noticed Christine and Danny getting closer. Christine questions why that concerns her, and Phyllis explains that if she is a part of Danny’s life, then she is a part of her son’s circle and, therefore, in part of her life as well. She admits that she doesn’t love it, but she’s trying to make peace with it and become the bigger woman.
Christine is wondering why she’s assuming that she’s becoming more involved in Danny’s life. Phyllis explains that she has been seeing some hints of it around town, and tells Christine that her secret is safe with her. Christine says it is not a topic she is willing to explore, and notes that her relationship with Danny is none of Phyllis’s business. Christine wonders why Phyllis is so concerned and thinks that Phyllis is just jealous. Christine reveals that she has a dinner date with Danny, and Phyllis catches on that Danny is going to make his incredible sauce for her. She tells Christine to enjoy her meal.
Danny and Daniel talk, and Daniel reveals that he is scrolling for updates on the fire since Lily left town to go check on Mattie. Danny says he heard that it’s 80% contained on his way over. Daniel is excited to spend some quality time with his father and makes suggestions of what they can do. Danny finds it a bit awkward and Daniel inquires about why it’s so weird. Danny tells him that the groceries he brought aren’t snacks, and he came to borrow his kitchen for a couple of hours because he is making his pasta sauce. Daniel is stunned and notes that the sauce is only for special occasions, so why tonight? Danny tells him that the sauce is for Christine.
Daniel asks his father about his relationship with Christine, to which his father reveals that they are friends who have grown closer since Christine’s return from Portugal. Danny then admits to his son that he and Christine have kissed and that he believes their relationship is moving in the right direction. Later, Christine arrives at Daniel’s home while his father is in the kitchen, and she remarks on the delicious aroma of the food. Daniel informs Christine that his father doesn’t usually cook like this, to which Christine jokingly asks if that means he’s not invited to dinner. Daniel leaves the room, asking Christine to save him some leftovers.
After dinner, Christine tells Daniel that it was the best meal she’s had in years. They then dance and share a kiss.

Meanwhile, Phyllis sends a text to Summer, inviting her to join her at the Jazz Lounge, but Summer declines due to work. Phyllis then texts Daniel, inviting him for a drink. While waiting for a reply, Michael arrives and they catch up on old times. Phyllis expresses her frustration that Diane and Christine are moving on with their lives, while she is still suffering and not getting the same forgiveness and happiness. Michael advises her not to compare herself to others and to focus on her own journey. He encourages her to keep moving forward and doing good.
