The Young and the Restless Recap for November 7, 2023:

What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Victor makes a shocking announcement, Devon questions Nate’s sincerity, and Lily experiences mixed signals with Daniel.

Devon goes to see Abby at society and tells her the good news about Aria doing well with her new hearing aids. Abby is very happy to hear it and he tells her that he has a meeting with Lily at their old place. Abby teases him about calling it their old place and not Lily’s new place. Devon tells her that he’s feeling unsettled with all of the changes lately. Abby questions if he’s talking about their new living arrangement, but Devon tells her that he loves living at the mansion and he knows that Dominic does too.

He says that he’s mainly just talking about things going on at the company. He thinks Maime is trying to force a family reunion using the business and Abby questions if that’s really a bad thing because he wanted to fix things with Nate eventually anyway. Devon admits that’s true but says he’s not sure if they’re ready to let him back in the company yet. He also tells her that he thinks that Tucker is behind Maime investing in the company and Abby wishes Tucker would just get out of their lives. She advises Devon to not let anybody push him around or force him to do anything that he doesn’t want to do. Devon thanks her before kissing her and leaving for his meeting with Lily.

Y&R Recap Today

Daniel and Lily have coffee and he tells her that she’s a genius for suggesting that he let Sally decorate his new place. Lily asks when Sally is coming and he tells her that she’s coming that day and asks her if she can be there because he wants her to be a part of it. She tells them she has business with Devon that morning, but if she gets finished early enough, she will come over.

Daniel asks her if she’s really okay with him living a few floors below her. Lily tells Daniel that she’s thrilled that they’re going to be close together and kisses him. She asks about his meeting with Sally and he tells her he has some time. He asks about her meeting with Devon and Lily grins, telling him she has time as well before they kiss again. Later Devon and Lily meet at her apartment and do some work before Lily says they should talk about Aunt Maime.

She feels like Maime‘s plans for the company include Nate coming back to work with them and she wonders if that’s even possible. Devon admits that he’s not sure and says that it’s a “maybe” for him, and Lily feels the same way. She wonders if Mime‘s ultimate goal is to push Jill out of the company and asks Devon hypothetically what he thinks about that possibility. Devon tells her that he can’t imagine Maime having the power or the money to push Jill out and Lily brings up the possibility of Tucker being her partner.

Devon admits that they can’t rule it out but also says he can’t confirm it either. He thinks Tucker would be more focused on the Abbotts now that Ashley is in town and Lily says she feels bad for the Abbots but happy for them if Tucker’s attention is turned elsewhere. Lily brings the conversation back to Nate and Devon tells her that he thinks it’s a moot point because Nate is happy at Newman Enterprises.

Lily still thinks they should try to reconcile with him on a personal level and Devon agrees to try for her sake, and Maime’s. He tells her that he has to go and after he leaves, he texts Nate and asks if they can grab a drink together later. Devon goes back to Society and tells Abby about his meeting with Lily. He also tells her that he reached out to Nate and he’s waiting to hear back from him.

Lucy and Heather get to the GAC and smile at each other. Lucy hopes that Daniel’s found them a place to live. She agrees with Heather that the GAC is nice, but it doesn’t feel like home. She wants to get settled into their own place and Heather agrees with her about that. Lucy is happy that they’re there and says that while she liked living in Lisbon, she missed home and missed being close to Daniel. Heather agrees and tells her she feels the exact same way.

Heather promises to call Daniel as soon as they get settled into their room. Lucy tells Heather not to tell Daniel that they’re already in town because she wants it to be a surprise. After they get settled into their room, they sit down for lunch and Heather calls Daniel and leaves him a message, asking if he’s been able to find a place for her and Lucy to live after they get back to Genoa City.

Y&R Recap Today

Sally and Chloe get together for coffee at Crimson Lights and Chloe can tell that Sally has a new outlook. Sally tells her that Daniel is her first client and that she’s excited to finally feel like things are turning around for her emotionally. Chloe assumes that her positive new outlook means that she and Nick worked things out and got back together. Sally tells her that professionally, things are very good with her and Nick, but personally, not so much. She says that Nick told her that she needed to figure out what it was she wanted.

Chloe thinks that the answer is easy, she wants her new company and Nick to share her life with, but Sally tells her that she’s concentrating on enjoying her new career and getting her spark back. She’s done with being sad all the time and she’s finally ready to be Sally Spector again. Chloe tells her that she’s happy to hear good news and that she needs it after the horrible few days that she’s had. Sally asks her what’s going on, but before Chloe can say anything Daniel shows up for his meeting with Sally.

He and Chloe greet each other warmly, and he sits down and starts to talk to Sally about the new apartment. Before they can get into any details, Danny gets a phone call that he has to take and after he steps away from the table, Sally invites Chloe to come with them to Daniel’s apartment to help her plan what to do there. Chloe happily agrees to tag along.

Daniel, Sally, and Chloe get to his apartment and just as they are about to start talking about Sally’s ideas there’s a knock on the door, and Daniel is happily surprised to see his daughter there. They greet each other warmly, and he invites her and Heather in. Lucy tells him that she loves the place, and they all start walking around together to plan the decorating.

After they finish, Daniel walks Sally and Chloe out and then tells Heather and Lucy that he thinks he found the perfect apartment for them, but it won’t be up for rent for another month and a half. Lucy is bummed out by that, but Daniel tells her that she can be at his place as much as she wants to even if it’s every night. She hugs him happily just as Lily comes in and is surprised to find out that Lucy and Heather are already back in Genoa City.

Sally and Chloe go back to Crimson Lights and talk about how well things went at Daniel’s. Chloe talks about how much fun it was and Sally tells her that she can’t believe she forgot how in sync they were. Sally stops herself and tells Chloe that she knows that she’s happy at Marchetti, but Chloe confides that things are not going well there and she thinks she might’ve made a mistake.

Victor gathers Adam, Nick, Victoria, Nate, and Nikki in his office and tells them it’s time for him to tell them the truth. He admits that his mental state has not been right for a while and he’s been in denial about it, but the time has come to do something about it. Nikki is just as shocked about his announcement as everyone else and Adam tells him that he’s proud of him for acknowledging that he has a problem.

Victor asks if that’s why Adam was trying to trick him into being evaluated without his consent, and Adam reminds him that he just told them that he was in denial and asked if he would’ve consented if Adam had just come out and asked him to do it. Victor apologizes to Nick and tells him that he came up with the entire plan to hide what was actually going on. Nick tells him an apology isn’t necessary and says that he had wondered if that was the case. Victoria says that she wondered the same thing and asks her father what has to happen now.

Victor says the most important thing is protecting the company. His children think the most important thing is his health. Nate says that Victor needs to be diagnosed and a treatment plan needs to be created as long as it’s a condition that can be treated. He tells them that he and Victor have already discussed it and he spoke with a select few of his former colleagues and found a private clinic that Victor could go to that would be completely discreet while he is being diagnosed.

Nate says they can put out a cover story that Victor’s on an extended business trip and tells them all that he has already drafted a press release that he will send them for their approval before sending it to the PR department. Victor asks Adam if he agrees with his course of action and Adam tells him that he absolutely does not. Adam tells them that he doesn’t think there’s any way they could possibly keep it a secret if Victor goes anywhere else for treatment. He thinks that they should bring the diagnosis and the treatment to Victor.

Nate argues that Victor needs a specialized environment and Adam counters that they can create that for him at the ranch or in Newman Towers. He says that with their money they can bring in the best specialists and give Victor everything he needs in the house and the family can work together to create a façade of normalcy for anybody who might be looking. Nate strenuously objects and thinks that it’s a very bad idea and Victoria asks Nikki what she thinks.

Nikki thinks that they’re getting ahead of themselves and says that they should get an initial diagnosis first so they know what they’re dealing with before they make any other decisions. Victoria says that she hates to admit it but she agrees with Adam that they need to keep everything in-house so they can protect Victor and the company. Nate again makes the case for a specialized mental health facility that can properly diagnose and treat Victor. Victor asks him what would happen with the company while he is gone.

Nate tells them that the obvious choice is for Victoria to step back in as his interim CEO, while Victor is being diagnosed and treated for his condition. Victor asks Victoria if this was her idea and she tells him that she didn’t know anything about it. Nate assures Victor that he kept their conversations confidential. Victor asks Nikki if she thinks it’s time to drop the charade and she says that it’s past time. Victor tells Nate that he’s fired.
