Today on The Young and the Restless: Kyle tells Nikki the truth about Victor’s deal with Audra, Lily stands her ground with Phyllis, and Cane questions Amanda’s loyalty.
Y&R Recap July 23: Lily, Audra, and Phyllis
Lily and Audra were together when Phyllis showed up, and that’s when the accusations started flying. Phyllis even accused Audra of having a motive. She defended Cane, but Lily also made it clear she still believed he could be guilty.
Phyllis’s main point was that Cane couldn’t have planned a murder in advance, especially since there was no way he could have predicted Lily and Damian would end up together. So the idea that he killed Damian to get him out of the way seemed like a stretch. Audra agreed.
Phylis noted that Audra seemed the least bit rattled that a killer is amongst them. “Back off, Phyllis, or I’ll show you rattled,” Audra fired back. Phyllis also begged Lily to see that there is no way Cane is capable of this type of violence. Again, Audra agreed with Phyllis’s logic.
Amanda Tries to Convince Cane
Later, Amanda caught Cane messing with the surveillance footage and immediately got suspicious. She believed that whoever erased the footage was trying to cover their tracks. Cane, on the other hand, suspected Nick. Still, he admitted there was a chance he was wrong and Nick might not be the killer.
Amanda was convinced Nick was innocent and begged Cane to let him and Sharon go. Cane said he needed to talk to Chance again first to see if there was any way things could still work out in his favor.
Sharon and Nick Locked in Storage Room
Meanwhile, Sharon and Nick were locked inside a storage room. As they sifted through some old items, they found photos of what the place used to look like. They started wondering what could be Cane’s endgame and how he managed to accumulate such wealth in the last few years.
Sharon found a bottle of champagne, and Nick pointed out he had an idea. Sharon hoped it didn’t include passing the time, but Nick noted he had a much better idea. He suggested Sharon could try picking the lock and she tried.
Kyle Accuses Victor
Elsewhere, Kyle confronted Victor in front of Nikki. He claimed to know the truth — that Victor hired Audra to seduce him and come between him and Claire. Kyle said he was done trying to earn Victor’s approval and announced that he and Claire would be moving in together once he got home. And there was nothing Victor could do to stop it.
“Watch me,” Victor snapped before walking off.
Afterward, Kyle asked Nikki if she had anything to do with the scheme. She swore up and down that she didn’t. Kyle then tried to get Nikki to see what Victor was really up to.
Y&R Recap July 23: There’s a New Suspect
Victor then ran into Chance and brought up Cane’s decision to put Sharon and Nick under house arrest. Chance pointed out that Cane was pretty much doing his own thing. Victor warned him that if he saw Cane, he should deliver a message — no one messes with Victor’s family.
Chance filled Victor in on Carter, whom he has listed as a new suspect. Because Carter told him a completely different story from the guard. Now Victor stared to wonder if Carter was the one behind all of this. Victor even pointed out that Carter seemed kind of robotic and may have been programmed to kill for Cane.
