Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman on The Young and the Restless) had her Instagram followers swooning after she introduced the newest member of her family.
“Puppy update,” she wrote in her caption, adding, “Meet our new family member — Levi Gaston! I’m proud to report he was perfect on our drive home to Nashville, and he already fits right in. We are completely in love.”
In the video that came with her post, Melissa gave fans a behind-the-scenes peek into her day, saying:
“In between filming, by the way, which is why I’m dressed like an Amish woman. We are now going to see a family that has a couple Cavapoo puppies, and it’s a little bit awkward because I’m dressed like an Amish person going to get a dog. Or going to look at a dog. I don’t know if we’re going to get the dog.”

But then, just moments later, it shifts to pure excitement:
“Oh my gosh. Levi. Levi. Oh.”
“We just wrapped and we are leaving Sugarcreek, Ohio. We’re heading back to Nashville and I have a full heart because this cast and crew was just so sweet and so kind and so talented. And I also have a puppy. A very unexpected puppy. And some… a lot of new friends. So we love you, Sugarcreek. This has been super fun.”
Melissa and her husband, Justin Gaston, are already proud parents to two daughters. In 2016, they adopted their first child, Olivia Christine, born in April of that year. A year later, on December 9, 2017, Melissa gave birth to their second daughter, Sophie Jolie.
Now with Levi joining the crew, it’s safe to say their hearts (and home) just got a little fuller — and a whole lot fluffier.
