It’s been a minute since The Young and the Restless legend Peter Bergman stepped outside of Genoa City, but he is — this time in a whole new world. Bergman has joined the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller Pluribus.
Created by Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), Pluribus is set to premiere on November 7, 2025, with the first two episodes dropping on Apple TV+. The nine-episode season will then roll out weekly every Friday through December 26.
What is Pluribus?
Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the series follows a mysterious virus sweeping across the country. One that makes its victims perpetually happy and content. The twist? Only one person seems to be immune: a troubled author, played by none other than Rhea Seehorn. She stars as Carol Sturka, a woman whose immunity to the virus may hold the key to everything.
What Role Does Peter Bergman Play?
And where does Peter Bergman come in? In a newly released teaser trailer, Bergman makes a striking appearance as a White House figure, speaking to Carol via a C-SPAN-style call-in. His tone is calm… but there’s something unsettling lurking beneath the surface. It clearly showcases Bergman in a very different light than we’re used to seeing on daytime TV.
Also among the cast are:
- Karolina Wydra as Zosia
- Carlos Manuel Vesga as Manusos
- Miriam Shor as Helen
- Samba Schutte
The show boasts an impressive writing team alongside Gilligan. This includes: Jenn Carroll, Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Ariel Levine, Vera Blasi, and Jonny Gomez.
While Bergman is best known for his decades-long run as Jack Abbott on The Young and the Restless (and previously as Cliff Warner on All My Children), this marks a rare and exciting return to work outside of the soap genre for the four-time Daytime Emmy winner.
Don’t miss the premiere of Pluribus on November 7, exclusively on Apple TV+. Watch the teaser trailer below and get ready — this one looks like a wild ride.
