Y&R Recap February 28, 2024: Today on The Young and the Restless –Victor enlists Claire to set a trap for Jordan. Ashley has a troubling experience, and Victoria faces a tough decision.

Young and Restless (Y&R) Recap February 28 2024: Tension Rise
Over at the ranch, Victoria and Victor engage in some bickering. Nikki comes along and says she heard raised voices and questions what’s going on. Assuming this has to do with Victor’s plans for Claire, Nikki inquires about it. Victoria reveals that her dad has gone behind her back and arranged for Claire’s early release. She is worried that this could setback all the progress her daughter has made. Victoria begs her mom to back her on this. Nikki, however, says she is starting to think that Victor’s plan is a great idea. Victoria is still not having it, especially not wanting to risk putting her daughter in Jordan’s crosshair to be harmed. While Victor promises that no harm will come to Claire.
Victor says end of conversation and exits. Victoria is then ready to take drastic measures. She tells her mom that she will pull the same Newman card her father has pulled by telling her daughter that she will turn her back on her if she goes along with this crazy plan, and maybe they can put an end to this insane idea. Nikki understands her fear but begs her to trust her father on this. Victoria believes there has to be another way. She is tired of her parents ignoring her feelings about this and storms out.
Michael Visits Claire!
At Memorial, Michael arrives, saying he got Claire’s message that she wanted to see him. Claire quickly reveals that she has decided to do whatever it takes to get out of there—she wants to take Victor up on his offer. Michael notes that he has already gotten the process started. Claire then questions if Victor was lying when he told her that it was her decision to make and that he would give her time to do the same. However, Claire is ready to go full speed ahead to be where her family needs her to be. Michael then tells her to be ready because she could be starting her new life as a Newman by breakfast tomorrow.

Later, Cole stops by to see Claire. She is happy to see him because she was hoping to talk to him about Victor’s latest plan. Cole notes that’s exactly why he is there. He is willing to support her decision, whatever it is, but he must ask if she is really ready to face the outside world again. Claire admits she is nervous, but Victor promised that he would have a lot of security for her. Claire is even excited about meeting her other siblings, getting to know them, and spending time with them.
Victoria rushes in to try and talk Claire out of this, but Claire insists this is something she wants to do for the family. While she plans on doing it with or without Victoria’s support, she begs for her blessing. Reluctantly, Victoria agrees but promises to lay down some ground rules with Victor that are not negotiable.

Victor comes out and asks Nikki what happened. She explains that Victoria stormed out. Victor then reveals his big plan to stage a photo of a long-lost daughter coming home to Victoria’s home, and that will be a trap to get to Jordan. Michael arrives and tells them about his visit with Claire. He learns that Cole and Victoria are still opposed to Victor’s plan and wonders how it will work, but Victor insists that it will.
Ashley calls Tucker, inviting him out for a drink at the Athletic Club. Tucker cites that he is busy and has things to do. Audra asks who it is, and as she realizes that it’s Ashley on the phone, she grabs the phone out of Tucker’s hand. “I told you to back off; what the hell do you think you’re doing?” she asks Ashley. Ashley claims she is only inviting an old friend out for a drink, and she sees nothing wrong with that. Audra, on the other hand, is done with Ashley’s schemes.

However, Ashley notes that she is the only woman Tucker has ever loved and that this is just another chapter in their book. Audra tells Ashley to have some dignity and leave them both alone. Audra is irritated and hangs up the phone on Ashley. Meanwhile, Ashley hears voices in her head telling her to back off, but she tells herself that Tucker will come around because he cannot resist her.
After the call, Audra tells Tucker that Ashley wants him to tell her to her face that he has moved on. Somehow, Tucker thinks that maybe it’s a good idea. Audra believes he is playing right into Ashley’s hands, and if he agrees to see her, he is letting her win. She thinks the best thing to do is to ignore her. Tucker, on the other hand, believes he has to be the one to shut her down. He wants to go have that drink with Ashley, but on the condition that Audra goes with him. Audra is hesitant, but eventually agrees.
Ashley Wants Him Back!
Ashley is seated at a table in the Athletic Club when Tucker comes along with Audra. She is of the opinion that Audra begged to tag along, but Tucker shares that he asked her to join him. Wanting him back, Ashley reveals that she was wrong. She shares that she still loves him and knows he loves her too. Tucker, however, says they had plenty of chances, and that should have told him something: they never work and they never will. Ashley claims she is the woman he wants her to be; they can take Glissade and turn it into the powerhouse it is meant to be. She approaches him, kisses him, and then leaves.

They get back to the suite as Audra admits to being fed up with Ashley’s toxicity and says they need to head to Paris right away. Meanwhile, Ashley gets home and pours herself a drink. She breaks down in tears as she continually hears voices in her head saying, “Ashley, wake up!“
