On June 21, 2024, Joshua Morrow will celebrate a major milestone—reaching the 30-year mark of portraying the iconic character Nicholas “Nick” Newman on The Young and the Restless. The show will air a special episode to honor his remarkable 30-year contribution to the series.
As shared in the most recent TV Guide Magazine issue, Morrow expressed, “I feel like I just had my 20th. I just blinked, and a decade went by. I remember my dad saying to me, maybe five years into my career, ‘If you can wake up every day and love going to work, you got life licked.’ I feel like that right now.”
Viewers will be treated to an episode filled with flashbacks highlighting Nick’s family and his 30-year journey in Genoa City. Joshua Morrow looks back and tells the publication, “If you would have told me when I was a sophomore in high school in Oklahoma just playing football, ‘You will have had a 30-year career on a television show’, I would have thought you were joking. It’s an incredible accomplishment and one I never take for granted. Beyond blessed doesn’t even cover it. I owe my life to this show. I really do feel like I was made to play Nick Newman. It’s been the role of a lifetime.”
Joshua Morrow to be Honored with Special Episode
The Nick character was first introduced by William J. Bell and made his onscreen debut in 1988 as the second child of supercouple Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). After being portrayed by child actors for six years, the show rapidly aged the character to a teenager in 1994. At this point, Joshua Morrow took on the role. Since then, Morrow has delivered an outstanding portrayal of the character. Initially reintroduced to develop a relationship with Sharon (Sharon Case), their relationship has solidified Nick and Sharon as a prominent and popular couple despite no longer being romantically involved.
