Could be there be a soapy return in Rachel Melvin’s near future? Melvin who played the role of Chelsea Brady, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Billie’s daughter on ‘Days of Our Lives’ from 2005 – 2009 gave fans a little tease earlier today. Unfortunately, it didn’t mean what many ‘Days’ fans were hoping.
Melvin took to Instagram with a post captioned, “Feeling a bit “soapy” the post included several hashtags including “#DaysofOurLives” and this had many fans thinking that Melvin was teasing her return to soaps. Unfortunately, she later clarified things noting that it’s just a play on words. However, she also didn’t rule out a return to her soap roots. “Oh boy, I’m sorry to have gotten your hopes up! No return to Salem yet guys, sorry! Just a fun play on words,” she shared.
Viewers of the NBC daytime would remember that originally, Melvin was brought on the NBC daytime drama to play a role she won. She was brought on as Georgia LaMarque, a French girl whom Bo and Billie were led to believe was their daughter. She appeared in only five episodes at the time but was later brought back to the show, ironically to play their daughter Chelsea Brady this time around. Melvin left the soap in 2009 as Chelsea relocated to London with her fiance, Max Brady (ex-Darin Brooks).
Since departing her role on the NBC daytime drama, Melvin has been hard at work on primetime serials and television films. Her most recent set of primetime gigs include; Awkward and Sleepy Hollow.
