The Runarounds, starring General Hospital alum William Lipton (Cameron Webber), has officially hit the cancellation button. Per reports, the series will not be returning for a second season.
The Runarounds was an American musical teen drama created by Jonas Pate for Amazon Prime Video, with a teleplay by David Wilcox. Josh Pate and Shannon Burke also served as executive producers. The show premiered on September 1, 2025, and by April 2026, it was canceled after just one season.
Set in Wilmington, North Carolina, the series followed a group of high school graduates who came together to form a rock band.
Cast and Performance
The series starred William Lipton as Charlie Cooper, the band’s lead singer and guitarist, alongside Axel Ellis, Jesse Golliher, Zendé Murdock, Jeremy Yun, and Lilah Pate. The cast also included Kelley Pereira, Maximo Salas, Marley Aliah, Shea Pritchard, Mark Wystrach, Hayes MacArthur, and Brooklyn Decker.
Reports suggest the show struggled to break through with a wider audience. It did not make Nielsen’s Top 10, though it did chart on Luminate’s Top 50 during its first three weeks. The series logged 1.9 million hours watched in the U.S. at number 32 during its opening weekend, followed by 2.2 million at number 27 in week two, and 1.2 million at number 41 in week three.
Even so, the cast didn’t stop at the screen. Members of The Runarounds have taken their music into the real world, performing live shows and small venue concerts while building a growing fanbase. Their on-screen chemistry clearly translated into a real band dynamic.
Lipton is best known to soap fans for his role as Cameron Webber on GH, a character he played from 2018 to 2024 in over 300 episodes.
